Not much with administratorship, but I think this is highly related... I
started exploring linux through mandrake (mandriva na karon). I didn't
really appreciate much of the interface at first, because there are a
couple of things missing, things not up to what I expected, and stuff
like that. Then I tried ubuntu and a lot more distros, but more
importantly dived into CLI. I think the core of appreciating and knowing
linux more is in CLI, and then you will start realizing that you can do
a whole lot of things in linux. Mostly will be "accidental" or
"coincidental", like you were pressured by building your web server
without any budget, or you would like to stop that roommate of yours
from snatching bandwidth with torrents and p2p (proxy), or hide that
pr0n in the safest place possible (fs security) ;) . There are a lot
more things that proved possible on linux, and when you've tried and
experienced it, you'll never know "Admin level" ka na pala...
Just babbling here. Hope this makes sense :D

i'm not very good with linux but im learning it bit by bit.
i can only suggest that you have try to use linux distibution which is
more comportable to you.
you also use webmin if you want to administer linux systems and from
time to time try to do task by CLI to improve your skill as much as
possible.
webmin will guide you to how the system should work and make it easy
to configure each services but there are time thing can only be done
under CLI.
just to keep you going start with ubuntu and install webmin but as
much as possible learn unix commands as this will also keep you
starting on CLI config.
I hope i share something.

Everyone here might know that I am a nursing student and
my experience with linux is limited to the ubuntu
destkop.. But anyway, I'm planning on buying dedicated
linux servers for hosting my sites and will be buying
unmanaged ones to save the bucks..
Point of this post is, how/where can i practice linux
administratorship? Which server distro should i practice on?
Do I need to know basic programming or just linux commands?
Thanks to everyone who might help me
(no noob bashing please)
