i do not know what windows version you are basing your reply but the claim you are saying here is wrong with xp. please don't tell me you are still using windows 3.0. i have opened files with as far greater than 100MB in size although they load slow with notepad, you can use notepad alternative applications like notepad++, e-text, etc.
hes question does not necessarily mean to use windows notepad but text files in general. and as far as my experience goes, text files limit are based on your physical memory regardless of your operating system, you just cant open them using notepad beyond 500MB++ hope this helped you regards -- How many people can read hex if only you and dead people can read hex?
