We have been doing video tutorials sa among company. Been at it for almost 6months na. And we created a wiki also to keep the videos reusable by other people.
On Linux, pwede gamiton gtk-recordmydesktop. On Windows, you can use Jing. Jing can record your cam, your screen, and audio so you can discuss while showing your code. However, the free Jing can only record max of 5 minutes per session. If you want continuous "conference"-style streaming, ustream.tv na lang then interested parties can login and join the conference/discussion and both the speaker and attendees can discuss via chat.
