The Office of Transportation Data has two large databases and multiple data sources containing thirty plus years of traffic and road characteristics. The reengineering effort will consist of questioning users to determine business practices, data rules, and data assumptions then validating those rules and assumptions by doing database queries. The personnel selected will need to have a combined skill set of a Business and Data Analyst. They will be responsible for the conversion, cleansing and delivery of data related activities. The major responsibilities are: Verify the correctness of data relationships, mappings and definitions. Verify business standards and processes Understand the data business processes and the underlying data being produced within those processes SQL Querying Skill Set (Oracle, Access, Excel) Gather Requirements and understand the underlying Data Elements and Usage Query Data with drill down analysis and evaluate data quality Be experienced and proficient in understanding and writing complex SQL statements. Document all results and findings Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing customer requests. Develop methodologies for analyzing and presenting data.
