Position: *ARIS Administrator*

*Location: Atlanta, GA*

*Duration: 6-12 Months*

*Rate: $45/hr*

*The Role of the ARIS Administrator*

This is a crucial role in the success of an ARIS based project. The ARIS
Administrator will be the Custodian of the information gathered by the
project team.

The ARIS Administrator will become the internal champion for use of the ARIS
products, and assume the role of “policeman” to ensure corporate standards
are adhered to in the creation of the corporate enterprise model.

It may be that some of the more “database management” activities could be
delegated to a more junior position.

With this role comes the responsibility for the following tasks:

*Technical Administration.*

An individual will need to be assigned the responsibility to manage the
network issues. These tasks may include: -

· Restarting the network service (takes just minutes, but the frequency will
depend on the reliability of the network.)

· Interrogating the ARIS Database Manager System in the event of login
sessions expiring, and using the ARIS Administration program to close
sessions.

· Recovering and Re-indexing databases in the event of data corruption.

· Backups - this is generally automated & can form part of the standard
backup procedures.

· Initial set up - 1 - 2 days dependent upon the size of the installation.
On site support for the installation may be required following hand-over by
our technical consultant.

· User access (NT and ARIS via databases)

· *Synchronization of ARIS within Solution Manager*

*Management of ARIS *

The Administrator must have a good understanding of the tool & its
application to the project. They need to have been through the ARIS Modeling
Training so that they fully understand the implications and results of any
administrative tasks undertaken.

This person may be required to take ownership of the following:-

· Owner or sponsor within the company and any on-going selling and
demonstrating of the tool to the teams involved

· Objectives of the various projects

· Define, maintain and refine any Modeling Standards (Method Filters) which
may be used in the project, and required on going as needs change and
enhancements are required.

· Definition and maintenance of Evaluation scripts for filtered information
reporting from the database.

· Definition and Management of Database Structures (See Section on Database
Structures)

· Management of all user logins for project databases. This will also
include access rights and functional privileges. (See Database Structures)

· Full understanding and execution of Database Merging and Consolidation,
when data is to be exchanged between different databases.

· Running and evaluating Semantic checks on the Database Model structures to
ensure consistency and logical correctness of Models.

· Facilitation in the resolution of issues arising when Semantic Checks
report inconsistencies in the Modelling.

· Creation and execution of Business Requirement checks (User-defined
Semantic Checks for validation of specific business requirements).

· Assistance with modelling queries from the user community and fielding
queries to IDS Scheer helpdesk.

· General interrogation of databases to find and resolve duplications etc.

· Controlling the use of Variants within databases for valid areas where
analysis and comparison of process variants may be required. In addition
need to know how to change and/or remove variants created in error.

· Management and initiation of baselining and version controlling

· Web Publishing (when appropriate) from the ARIS Environment to the
Corporate Intranet or Extranet.

· Allocation of licenses

· Coordination of training (customized material?) and recording who has had
training and to what level.

(The above list may not be exhaustive – but is a summary of the majority of
the administrative tasks undertaken in ensuring the integrity of corporate
models)

*Preferred SkillSet*

The ARIS Administrator should ideally be conversant with modelling concepts
and practices, and have experience with the standard suite of Office
Products.

In addition, project management experience would be a benefit, as would
experience of Visual Basic / JavaScript
