Position: *ARIS Administrator* *Location: Atlanta, GA* *Duration: 6-12 Months* *Rate: $45/hr* *The Role of the ARIS Administrator* This is a crucial role in the success of an ARIS based project. The ARIS Administrator will be the Custodian of the information gathered by the project team. The ARIS Administrator will become the internal champion for use of the ARIS products, and assume the role of “policeman” to ensure corporate standards are adhered to in the creation of the corporate enterprise model. It may be that some of the more “database management” activities could be delegated to a more junior position. With this role comes the responsibility for the following tasks: *Technical Administration.* An individual will need to be assigned the responsibility to manage the network issues. These tasks may include: - · Restarting the network service (takes just minutes, but the frequency will depend on the reliability of the network.) · Interrogating the ARIS Database Manager System in the event of login sessions expiring, and using the ARIS Administration program to close sessions. · Recovering and Re-indexing databases in the event of data corruption. · Backups - this is generally automated & can form part of the standard backup procedures. · Initial set up - 1 - 2 days dependent upon the size of the installation. On site support for the installation may be required following hand-over by our technical consultant. · User access (NT and ARIS via databases) · *Synchronization of ARIS within Solution Manager* *Management of ARIS * The Administrator must have a good understanding of the tool & its application to the project. They need to have been through the ARIS Modeling Training so that they fully understand the implications and results of any administrative tasks undertaken. This person may be required to take ownership of the following:- · Owner or sponsor within the company and any on-going selling and demonstrating of the tool to the teams involved · Objectives of the various projects · Define, maintain and refine any Modeling Standards (Method Filters) which may be used in the project, and required on going as needs change and enhancements are required. · Definition and maintenance of Evaluation scripts for filtered information reporting from the database. · Definition and Management of Database Structures (See Section on Database Structures) · Management of all user logins for project databases. This will also include access rights and functional privileges. (See Database Structures) · Full understanding and execution of Database Merging and Consolidation, when data is to be exchanged between different databases. · Running and evaluating Semantic checks on the Database Model structures to ensure consistency and logical correctness of Models. · Facilitation in the resolution of issues arising when Semantic Checks report inconsistencies in the Modelling. · Creation and execution of Business Requirement checks (User-defined Semantic Checks for validation of specific business requirements). · Assistance with modelling queries from the user community and fielding queries to IDS Scheer helpdesk. · General interrogation of databases to find and resolve duplications etc. · Controlling the use of Variants within databases for valid areas where analysis and comparison of process variants may be required. In addition need to know how to change and/or remove variants created in error. · Management and initiation of baselining and version controlling · Web Publishing (when appropriate) from the ARIS Environment to the Corporate Intranet or Extranet. · Allocation of licenses · Coordination of training (customized material?) and recording who has had training and to what level. (The above list may not be exhaustive – but is a summary of the majority of the administrative tasks undertaken in ensuring the integrity of corporate models) *Preferred SkillSet* The ARIS Administrator should ideally be conversant with modelling concepts and practices, and have experience with the standard suite of Office Products.
