MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: (List the day to day duties
of this role and additional responsibilities)
The candidate must have at least 5-6 years exposure to Hyperion or
OBI/Siebel reporting tools and must have participated in the
deployment of reporting tools such as Hyperion Financial Reporting or
Hyperion Web Analysis or OBI. The candidate must have a solid grasp of
the following skills: architecture, automation, complex report
building. The ideal candidate will currently work in the IT field and
develop a deep understanding of the businesses they support along with
well-developed people and project management skills. They may apply
these skills either within a narrow business focus or broadly across
the firm. These skills will have been gained within an MIS environment
where the candidate has acquired good report development skills and a
broader understanding of IT systems. A good understanding of Oracle
relational databases is required and knowledge of alternative tools
such as MS Analysis Services or Business Objects is desirable. They
will join the MIS team in an OBIEE Senior Developer role and be
expected to develop applications independently under the direction of
the stream leader and/or project manager. They can expect to build on
their Essbase/IT knowledge and grow within the role.
Responsibilities include
- Work under supervision to plan, develop and deliver moderately
complex applications or complex components from technical
specifications and design documents.
- Understanding of client's requirements at group and departmental
level. Plan and conduct successful unit and performance testing.
Participate in code reviews and incorporate learning’s into work
practices
- Learn and apply standard development and change management methodologies
- Develop and review technical specifications and design documents.
Participate in design reviews and incorporate learning’s into work
practices.
- Understand how business and IT strategies align with projects in the
supported organizations. Extend understanding of business and IT
strategies, drivers and processes at the project to department level.
- Provide 2nd level support outside normal office hours (including
weekends) in rotational manner
