*Position: 3*** *Duration: 6+ Months*** *Location: Columbus, OH*** *Interview: Immediate*** * *** *Description**:*** *These individuals will work in a Performance "Center of Excellence" with our client as part of a team responsible for ensuring performance SLA's are met for high volume, mission critical applications. The Performance Engineer will work with a Team Lead and Business Analysts to accept applications into the Performance COE, and then develop and execute scenarios and scripts yielding results to be analyzed and compared to application SLA's. *** * *** *Individuals selected for this engagement will have multiple years of experience developing and executing performance tests, and have the expertise and knowledge to know how to test to try and "break" the application. They will have strong scripting skills using the LoadRunner tool, and strong expertise with LoadRunner. LoadRunner certification is preferred. *** * *** *Key activities of this position include: *** *1. Requirements Analysis *** *- Ability to estimate peak load *** *- Ability to create and present performance test plan *** *- Develop different types of tests and determining what is suitable for what situation. *** * *** *2. Environment *** *- Ability to adjust targets according test environment *** * *** *3. Scripting *** *- Awareness and hands-on experience with most of the Loadrunner supplied functions *** *- Script customization capability using C or any other programming language *** *- Building performance test scripts using multiple protocols (including Web, Citrix, RTE, AMF, Flex, Ajax, Winsock, ODBC, Web Services) *** *- Proven ability to correlate scripts *** * *** *4. Performance Diagnosis *** *- Ability to support diagnosis through testing *** *- Ability to interpret most important system counters *** * *** *5. Reporting *** *- Ability to link results to business objectives *** *- Ability to provide go /no-go recommendation *** * *** *Skills / knowledge / experience: *** *General: *** *- Strong verbal and written communications skills *** *- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills *** *- Ability to identify and resolve conflicts within multi-functional team in remote locations *** *- Firm knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Test methodologies * ** *- Proven ability to manage project deadlines, under tight and aggressive timelines, often with competing priorities and complexities *** *- Ability to prioritize along critical path and meet project milestones and deliverable dates *** * *** *Technology / Tools: *** *- Proven working knowledge of performance testing methods, tools, and software testing best practices using HP suite (Quality Center, LoadRunner 9.0) *** *- Ability to understand and translate business requirements into performance testing requirements and scripts *** * *** *Responsibilities: *** *- Under limited supervision, design and implement performance test cases as per defined non-functional requirements. *** *- Develop and unit test automated test scripts using performance test tools (LoadRunner 9.0 experience is a must) *** *- Conduct a wide range of system performance tests and analyze to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and defined nonfunctional requirements. *** *- Execute tests according to established plans and scripts. Document problems in tracking tool or similar, and retest software fixes to ensure problems are resolved. *** *- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness of performance test strategies. *** *- Develop/enhance performance workload distribution test models as per production transaction mix. Simulate number of concurrent users for load scenarios to determine response times and bottlenecks. *** *- Monitor resources and collect metrics during the tests in order to determine the impact of load/stress testing on the infrastructure.
