Location: Boston Duration: 6-18 months Rate: open Interview: 1 PS and 1 F2F (most likely - subject to change) Start: Immediately MUST BE LOCAL TO BOSTON AND HAVE EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION. Must have CCNA and/or CCNP as well as 3-5 years on hands on Cisco experience. Must have experience working in a large NOC Environment. *NOC Technician – Boston, MA * This position requires a highly motivated and flexible individual to perform Network Administration. *Responsibilities* - Monitor networks and validate alarms from monitoring tools. - Administer second-level troubleshooting and support, providing confirmation of issues and events. - Provide internal analysis, support, resolution or escalation if needed of all network related incidents and requests - Work with various vendors to resolve equipment and infrastructure issues. *Requirements* - Act as the primary organizational interface with internal clients and remote support staff - Must have thorough knowledge and troubleshooting experience of routing protocols and networking - Minimum of 3-5 years of related HANDS ON experience required and a CCNA. CCNP preferred - Knowledge of working Telco issues, F5 BigIP, HP Service Center, Netcool, Opsware a plus - Must possess strong organizational and verbal communication skills. - Individual must have the ability to work in a highly visible fast paced environment with minimal supervision and SLA deadline responsibility. - Thorough knowledge of IT environments including LAN/WAN communications, technologies and system hosting infrastructure and platforms is required. - Must have strong hands-on Cisco troubleshooting skills - Knowledge of Cisco equipment, HP Network Node Manager, Netcool and Opsware. - Requires an AA degree and/or equivalent related experience. - Shifts will vary – any combination of 4 or 5 day shifts across 7days a week equaling 40hrs that may constantly change due to coverage requirements (flexibility) Candidates MUST BE OK WITH CHANGING SHIFTS!
