Job Title:Sybase DBA
Location: STAMFORD CT

Job Description:
The work comprises all aspects of Sybase Database Administration with
tasks including :
* Logical & physical database design
* Provide database expertise
* Building/upgrading Sybase ASE/RS, adhering to bank deployment and
security standards
* Assisting application teams with releases, resolving performance
issues, coordinating with unix/storage teams when required
* Setting up and resolving issues with Sybase replication, ASE,
Housekeeping etc.
* Ability to work independently and resolve complex Sybase issues
* Proactive monitoring of the databases, backups and restores
* Working outside core business hours
* Experience in task automation
* Scripting language (ksh, perl)
Experience Required:
* Min. experience of 10 yr. required
* Proven track record in supporting development and production activities
simultaneously in a large environment with good communication skills
* Must be able to tune complex queries, suggest logical design changes
* In-depth knowledge of Sybase ASE 1192, 12.X and 15. Replication server
12.1 and 12.6
* Good knowledge of Unix (Solaris 8 and 10) and RHEL Linux 3 and 5
* Sybase Database Tuning using Sybase views, tools and unix commands
* Storage and Unix knowledge for Sybase Database Performance tuning
* Sybase backup and recovery configuration and procedures using SQL
Backtrack and Native backups
* Must be able to work after hours and on weekends frequently
* Prior experience supporting high transactional trading applications a
plus
