I've worked in academic libraries and special libraries and we always had just 1 circulation desk per library branch, which had all the waiting reserves for that branch behind it. I don't think that I've even used a library (in Canada or Australia) that has had multiple circulation desks? Not that I'm being negative. I'm really intrigued!
