Ansar Burney rescues 13 more slave children from UAE:
DUBAI, Sept 14: Thirteen more Pakistani 'slave' children alongwith five adult women, have been rescued by Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International and sent back to Pakistan on Tuesday morning. The thirteen Pakistani children, aged between two to seven years, were brought into the UAE illegally by unscrupulous agents and imposter parents for the purposes of slave labour and to be 'child camel jockeys'. Ansar Burney, was able to trace the children and adults from all over the UAE and send them back to Pakistan to their families. Burney thanked Pakistan's Consulate General in Dubai for its kind cooperation in this regard. The Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International had arranged for the air tickets for the Ten children and four adult women. While three tickets for 3 children and one for an adult woman were arranged by Pakistan Association. Out of the 13 children, 10 had valid passports while three were issued outpasses by the Pakistan Consulate General Dubai, said Advocate Ansar Burney whose recent visit to Middle East and Arab Countries was meant to rescue the kidnapped children working as slave labourers or 'Child Camel Jockeys' and send them back to their original parents in Pakistan or the shelter homes of the Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International. The 13 children had either been kidnapped or sold by their parents and brought to the UAE from the rural areas of Punjab including Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismael Khan, Multan and Sukkar. Five women adults, also used for slave labour and claim to be the parents of the children are also being sent to Pakistan. Whether their claims are true or not will be verified once we get back to Pakistan, said Mr Burney adding that the tedious and heart wrenching process of finding the true parents of the children would start once the children are back in Pakistan and are in a state to talk. "We are not sure if these women are the mothers of some of these children, the truth will be verified once we are in Pakistan" said Ansar Burney. In Pakistan, parents of such children are either duped by unscrupulous agents who claim to adopt the child, or in many cases, parents sell off their children for small money, Mr Burney explained. Corruption and poverty lead the poor parents to sell off their innocent children, in change for some money and the belief that the children will have a better future abroad he added. The issue of child trafficking in third world countries, Mr Burney said, needs to be tackled at its roots. Many times, government officials are themselve involved in this henious crime of human smuggling, knowing fully well the purpose these kids will be used for abroad. Sexual abuse is also common with these innocent children. The modus operandi of these human smugglers agents is that after the kidnap or purchase of the children, they get them endorsed in a fake mothers passport or get a separate passport for the child after which the child can travel internationally with his parents without arousing any suspicion. These agents in some cases, go through Iran to send these children to UAE and other Middle East and Arab. Giving a background of the child trafficking issue Mr Burney said that children were trafficked from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and several countries in Africa and brought to the Middle Eastern and Arab countries for several reasons. Mr Burneys Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International (ABWTI) has successfully traced out more than 100,000 children from the world over through its Bureau of Missing and Kidnapped Children/Persons and has delivered them safely to their families.
