While Americans get ready to decide who will occupy the White House for 
next 4 years, their countrymen continued to pay for Iraq occupation in 
blood on Monday. Attacks by resistance fighters today have added to the 
American death toll while four armored vehicles, three jeeps, and a 
storage trailer were destroyed. Four resistance fighters were martyred 
and three more were wounded also in clashes yesterday.

Mujahideen Prepare For Fallujah Battle; US Soldier Killed By Roadside Bomb

A US soldier was killed and another wounded in a roadside bombing near 
Salman Pak, 12 miles south of the capital yesterday as a bomber 
detonated his vehicle at a checkpoint near Baghdad airport, injuring 
nine Iraqis and forcing the US command to close the main route into the 
city for several hours.

Black Watch troops at Camp Dogwood in Iraq have come under rocket attack 
for the sixth successive night. No-one was injured in the attacks and 
specialists have spent most of the day clearing unexploded bombs. The 
entire Battlegroup is now in place after a second and final convoy of 
armoury and troops arrived early this morning.

Wednesday November 3, 2004 - Insurgents mounted fresh attacks in Baghdad 
today, killing a senior oil ministry official and an American soldier 
and kidnapping a Lebanese-American contractor.
A spokesman for the Iraqi interior ministry said gunmen had killed 
Hussein Ali, the director-general of state-owned Refined Oil Products 
distribution company, as he left his home in Baghdad. Insurgents have 
killed scores of Iraqi officials to try to undermine the interim prime 
minister, Ayad Allawi, and his Iraqi government.

FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters) - U.S. artillery shelled
Falluja on Thursday after overnight air and tank
attacks killed five people in Iraq's most rebellious
city, braced for an all-out offensive now the U.S.
presidential election is over.

The U.S. military said two air raids after midnight
destroyed "fighting barricades" prepared by insurgents
in the northeast and southeast of the Sunni Muslim
city.

His car was rammed by attackers as it went past a mosque, according to BBC.
