From: "ALL INDIA ANTI-IMPERIALIST FORUM" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Stalin, the great proletarian leader, remembered in India : SUCI observes Stalin Day On the occasion of the 47th Death Anniversary of Comrade Joseph Stalin, at the call of Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) the revolutionary party of the country, a solemn gathering of Indian people was held in Calcutta in India on March 5, 2000, to respectfully remember the life struggle and contributions of this great proletarian leader. Comrade Prativa Mukherjee, a senior member of the West Bengal State Committee and President of the meeting, Comrade Pravash Ghosh, the speaker of the meeting, member Central Committee and the Secretary West Bengal State Committee, SUCI, Comrade Sukomal Dasgupta and Comrade Anil Sen, both eminent members of the Central Committee, SUCI and others, placed wreaths in memory of the great leader. Comrade Provash Ghosh highlighted that in spite of unceasing slanders and vilifications from imperialists and revisionists, Comrade Joseph Stalin remains forever at the lofty height of a great leader of countless exploited people of the world. In the post-Lenin days, his relentless struggle in defence of Marxism-Leninism; his correct and in-depth understanding of Marxism-Leninism against all sorts of distortions and attacks, holding high and emphatically reiterating the essence of Leninism; his correct and in-depth understanding of Marxism-Leninism, which provided strength to the contemporary world communist movement ; his leadership to the party, CPSU, the Soviet state and the country of USSR in the course set by Comrade Lenin himself ; his stewardship to lead his country from a medieval backward shape to an advanced modern one, a powerful force in the world ; his firm and resolute command to defend the young Soviet state from enemies within and without ; his commendable victory over the Nazi Germany in the Second World War ; his unfaltering instance and deeds, that served as a beacon to the development of a powerful socialist camp, as also a militant peace movement and anti-imperialist, anti-colonial struggles all over the world - these earned him a deep respect and love from millions of toiling oppresed people ; at the same time the enemies, capitalists-imperialists, their stooges and revisionists found the greatest danger in him, thus making him the target of their shameless slanderous campaign. As a communist, Comrade Stalin reached the high and noble standard, in which his self was totally identified with the cause of the party and the revolution. His brilliant analyses on language and linguistic, nationality problems in multi-national states, problems of socialist economy in USSR and others, are invaluable contributions to the treasure of Marxism-Leninism and human knowledge as well. In his last days, he even noted the dangers lying dormant in the Soviet party and state, even after the historic victory in the World War II and the prestige earned therefrom. He recognised these in the speech in the 19th Congress as coming from the lowering of ideological-political standard of people, cadres and even leaders. His apprehension came true after his death in the 20th Congress, when renegade Khruschev, in the name of fighting cult of personality, spearheaded attacks on Stalin's authority. Comrade Shibdas Ghosh, the founder General Secretary and beloved leader of SUCI, pointed out even as far back as in 1960, that this attack on Stalin is an attack on Lenin and communism only, and it would open floodgate of revisionism. Subsequent events proved how true the warnings had been. Now with counter-revolution overtaking USSR and socialist countries, and with the collapse of the socialist camp, imperialist-capitalist, their stooges and revisionists may feel elated. But we know that this can never be anything but temporary. Marxism-Leninism is a science ; science is never destroyed ; it is sure to reassert soon. Capitalism-imperialism is in its deepest all-out crisis that does not spare even their strongholds like the US imperialism. Russia, in turn, proves how powerful socialist economy was; the country that once came to the fore in the world in economy-industry-culture-education, has now turned into a country of mafia-beggars-smugglers-prostitutes under the sacred multiparty democracy of capitalist-imperialist. It is however heartening to know that throughout the world, the bare reality of life, the acute crisis of capitalism-imperialism are pushing the oppressed working people to raise their heads. Once failure of Paris Commune taught communists significant lessons to help Marx-Engels write the Manifesto; the 20th century debacle too has left its lessons on how revisionism can eat into the vitality of revolutionary movements and so on. These lessons and those of the long past will surely help the proletariat and oppressed masses to build up invincible surge of revolutionary movements to pay fitting tribute to Comrade Stalin. Long Live Comrade Stalin ! Long Live Revolution ! Long Live Marxism-Leninism ! __________________________________ KOMINFORM P.O.
