Heads of state from all parts of the world
congratulated Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic on
Yugoslav Constitutional Day. They expressed best
wishes for the well-being of the friendly Yugoslav
nation and the preservation of Yugoslavia's
independence and integrity, successful restoration and
economic development.

Besides best wishes for the prosperity of FR
Yugoslavia and the well-being of its nation, a message
sent by Chinese President Jiang Zemin also expresses
confidence that traditionally friendly ties and
co-operation between Yugoslavia and China will
continue to develop. Russian President Vladimir Putin
wished the Yugoslav nation a success in the
preservation of the sovereignty and territorial
integrity of FR Yugoslavia, economic recovery and the
performance of democratic, social tasks. He said he
was confident that further promotion of ties between
Russia and Yugoslavia would contribute to the
strengthening of peace and stability in the Balkans
and Europe. Indian President Narayanan said in his
message he believed that bilateral relations
between India and Yugoslavia would be reinforced to
the mutual benefit. The Republic of Belarus supports
Yugoslavia's efforts in the restoration of its
full-fledged membership of international
organizations, a message by President Alexander
Lukashenko said.
Messages to President Milosevic were also sent by the
President of the South African Republic, Tabo Mbeki,
the Governor General of Australia, William Dean, the
President of the Libyan Jamaheraya, Moammer el
Gadaffi, the President of Mexico, Ernesto
Zedillo,Iraqi President Sadam Hussein, the President
of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong
II, Iranian President Mohammed Katami, the President
of Sri Lanka, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and
other
statesmen.
