Communist Web Monday 1st April 2000 9.30pm gmt Solemn Meeting in Hanoi to Celebrate Liberation Day A solemn meeting was held at the Ba Dinh Hall in Hanoi on April 29 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the south liberation and national reunification, by the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, the National Assembly, the State President, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and Hanoi city. Before the meeting, leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, representatives of revolutionary veterans and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers paid floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved national leader, at his mausoleum and burned incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs. Present at the meeting were Mr Le Kha Phieu, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee; Advisors Do Muoi, Le Duc Anh and Vo Van Kiet; permanent politburo members; State President Tran Duc Luong, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai, National Assembly Chairman Nong Duc Manh; permanent politburo member and chairman of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Pham The Duyet; other politburo members, vice presidents, national assembly deputy chairmen, deputy prime ministers, members of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, national assembly standing members, revolutionary veterans, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labour Heroes, representatives of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, leaders of Hanoi's Party Committee, administration, and the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front and representatives of all stratas of Hanoi people and children.
