Meeting to Deploy Fatherland Front�s Plan A three-day meeting to deploy
Fatherland Front�s unified action plan and government�s targeted plans in
the 2000-2005 period was opened in Hanoi on May 30 by the Vietnam
Fatherland Front Central Committee. Participants to the meeting include key
officials of provincial Fatherland Fronts from Thua Thien-Hue northwards.
During the meeting, leaders of the Party, State, the Fatherland Front and
National Committee will introduce to the participants the basic contents of
the Fatherland Front�s unified action plan and government�s targeted plans
in the 2000-2005 period. They will discuss the tasks of gathering and
mobilising the whole nation to implement national construction and defence;
take part in the fight against crimes, drugs and HIV/AIDS; ensure traffic
order and safety; strengthen the movement named �the whole nation
consolidate to build a new life at residential areas,� and build the Party
and administration. Addressing the meeting, Mr Pham The Duyet, permanent
Politburo member and president of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland
Front Central Committee stressed the role and responsibilities of the
Fatherland Fronts of all levels in mobilising all sections of people to
actively participate in the patriotic emulation movements. They should also
develop internal strength to successfully realise national
industrialisation and modernisation; in fighting social evils; in observing
democratic regulations at grassroots levels and in building and
strengthening the Party, thus contributing to the success of the Party
congresses at all levels and the coming ninth National Party Congress.
