===================================================
Dear friends,
Please accept our cordial greetings from Japanese peace movement.
We have received over 320 signatures from 33 countries for the International Appeal on
the problems of U.S. bases in Okinawa launched on the occasion of the G8 Summit. We
would like to express our sincere gratitude to your kind support to the Appeal, and we
do highly appreciate your assistance to disseminate the appeal in your community and
contacts.
We made press conferences on this appeal in Tokyo (8 July), Naha City (Okinawa, 19
July), and in Nago City (venue of G8, Okinawa, 20 July) with the list of signatories.
It was covered by several news papers.
We published a pamphlet "Damage and Crime Caused by U.S. Military Bases in Japan"(***)
writen in English for these conferences, and for foreign journalists and NGO delegates
gathered in Okinawa in order to let them know the realities of problems of U.S. bases
in Okinawa.
***Please let me know your postal address. We are going to send this pamphlet to
you***
To keep our contact and to further promote international solidarity with peoples
suffering negative influences caused by U.S. military bases, we are enclosing this
pamphlet to you. This is also our expression of gratitude to your cooperation.
We are going to keep in touch with you for establishing a new global network on the
problems of U.S. military bases.
Thank you again.
Let us work together for a world free from foreign bases and troops,
for a world of peace, nuclear weapons free, human dignity, and of justice.
Yours in peace.
