Friends: I just found out that the BMDO will be making a decision in next couple of months on where they will test the Space based laser (SBL). They are right now considering one of four sites: * Redstone Army Arsenal (Huntsville, AL) * Stennis Test Center (Mississippi) * Cape Canaveral (Florida) * Kennedy Space Center (Florida) The BMDO is now preparing a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that should be public in coming weeks. Then after a public comment period, the BMDO will make a decision on their testing site. Los Angeles AFB, CA. is the program manager for the SBL program and is in charge of the EIS. The SBL is the real Star Wars constellation of 20-30 satellites orbiting the earth that would have capability to hit targets in space and on the planet. I will keep you all posted as I get more information. Bruce K.
