regarding
Detention of Azad Ahmed, the member of leading committee of organisation of Kurdistan-Worker Communist Party of Iraq (WCPI) Today, the September 4, the armed personnel of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) for the second time arrested Azad Ahmed, the member of leading committee of organisation of Kurdistan- WCPI, in district of Rania. Azad was just released by the PUK under the pressure of different political organisations and Amnesty International. They pressured and tortured him to leave the ranks of the WCPI. We announced previously, that the PUK was preparing and planning to arrest and jail the members and leaders of our party. Everyday the PUK continues its offenses, oppression and violence against the freedom of political activities in different ways with direct support of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Many cadres of our party have been jailed in the prisons of the PUK, tortured and threatened to leave the ranks of the party. We call on all political organisations, Amnesty International and all human right organisations to put pressure on the PUK to give up these actions which are against all principles of the human rights, to respect the freedom of political activity and not to violate these rights anymore.
