Dear Blanche---Yes! totally outrageous and insulting and racist! But
didnt the North Korean delegation finally come to the Millenium summit? I
thought I had read or heard somewhere that the two delegations were together
here which is what has to happen in short time.
Fidel Castro and Alarcon also had a hard time getting visas and didnt, up
until the last minute.
We brought a van of students from the Center at the college to hear Fidel
Fri.nite at Riverside Church. Even tho we had tickets, thanks to Rev.Lucius
Walker and IFCO, still, we were among the group left, as they closed the
doors, and had to hear him from outside, over a powerful loudspeaker. We had
waited 4 hours but the kids still were stimulated by the whole experience
and seeing the huge support for him and Cuba was good. I hope we can get a
delegation of students to Cuba, sometime this year maybe over one of the
school breaks.
Are you and Clare still expecting to be going up to Hyde Park? When so we
can see you and if you wish, of course, stay over. Life is moving
much too fast--for you, too, I know. Are you back at John Jay? I wanted to
do more for Hillary but am not doing a fundraising party..instead, doing one
