Greetings to Yemeni President
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, President of the
presidium of the DPRK
Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Ali Abdullah
Saleh on Sept. 25 on the
occasion of the 38th anniversary of the Yemeni revolution.
He in the message extended warm congratulations to the President,
government and people of
Yemen on the revolution day.
Wishing the President and people of Yemen successes in their work for
the prosperity of the
country, he expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative
relations between the two countries
would continue to develop on good terms.
North side's delegation to inter-Korean ministerial talks leaves
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- The north side's delegation led by
Jon Kum Jin, senior
councilor of the DPRK cabinet, left here to attend the third round of the
inter-Korean ministerial talks
due in Jeju Island.
It was seen off at the airport by Minister of Culture Kang Nung Su,
director of the secretariat of the
Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland An Kyong Ho and
officials concerned.
Nigerian embassy officials assist motorway construction site
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Nigerian ambassador to Korea Alhaji
Daudu Sulaiman and
embassy officials Tuesday assisted the construction site of the
Pyongyang-Nampho Motorway.
They were told about achievements of constructors and gave their great
impressions, looking round
the construction site.
They handed over aid materials and encouraged constructors in their
work, working with them.
Talks held between Korean and German FMs
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Talks were held between Paek Nam Sun,
Foreign Minister
of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Oskar Fischer, Foreign
Minister of the Federal
Republic of Germany, in Berlin on September 25.
At the talks the recent situation on the Korean peninsula and the
north-south dialogue were
affirmatively appreciated and views on the development of the bilateral
relations between the two
countries were exchanged.
Papers observe World Day of Tourism
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Papers today dedicate articles to the
World Day of Tourism.
Rodong Sinmun in an article says that multifarious international
functions have been held to mark
the day.
The third general meeting of the world tourism organization held in
Spain in September 1979 set
Sept. 27 as world day of tourism and decided to mark the day from 1980, the
paper says, and continues:
The DPRK became a member state of the organization in 1987.
This year's slogan set forth by the organization is "Techniques and
nature: Two major tasks for
tourism in early 21st century." Under this slogan member states of the
organization are conducting brisk
tourist activities.
The DPRK is taking an active part in the international tourist
activities and making strenuous efforts
to develop tourism.
Tourists from many countries visit the DPRK every year.
Minju Joson says that entertainment and rest grounds and scenic spots
wonderfully arranged in
many places of the country are greatly helpful to the people's cultural and
emotional life.
Russian political party leader on Putin's Korea visit
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- The Russian newspaper Patriot no. 33
carried what Oleg
Shenin, chairman of the council of the Union of Communist Parties--the
Communist Party of the Soviet
Union, said as regards President Putin's Korea visit at a press conference.
He affirmatively appreciated Putin's Korea visit, which he said shows
that Russia is interested in
socialist Korea firmly pursuing independent policies with self-reliance
under the guidance of its leader
Kim Jong Il and the Worker's Party of Korea.
Putin's visit clearly proves that the authority of the DPRK which is
making great achievements by
applying socialist principles, confidently advancing along the road of
socialism, is rising day by day. In
other words, it is the exploit of the people and party of Korea and its
leader Kim Jong Il, he said, and
went on:
Our party pays deep concern to the measures taken by the DPRK for
peaceful reunification of the
country. Experience of Korea will be beneficial to our struggle to revive
the soviet union.
U.S. attempt to keep its troops in South Korea
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- U.S. Secretary of Defense Cohen, when
he separately met
with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Director General of the
Defense Agency of Japan, said that
the improvement of relations between the north and south of Korea is
progressing apace but the military
capability of North Korea has not weakened.
And he said that though reconciliation and even reunification between
the north and the south are
achieved, it is important to keep the U.S. troops on the Korean peninsula
and that the military balance
should be maintained in this region.
Japan agreed with this.
Commenting on this fact, Rodong Sinmun today says the absurd remarks
came when the world
peace-loving people are loudly calling for the U.S. troops' pullout from
South Korea as the north-south
reconciliation is rapidly developing.
The news analyst commentary goes on:
The U.S. claim for the maintenance "of military balance" is aimed at
describing the U.S. troops as
"war deterrent force" and keeping them in South Korea for an indefinite period.
In order to dominate the world it is imperative to take hold on the
Asia-Pacific region by force of
arms and, to this end, it is important to turn the whole of Korea into a
stronghold of aggression. This is
the U.S. calculation and policy.
That is why the United States is desperately obstructing the Korean
nation from taking the road of
reconciliation, unity and reunification.
The Korean people are very proud of the fact that they have
strengthened the self-reliant defense
capability in every way to cope with the U.S. moves against the DPRK, the
commentary says, refuting
Cohen's assertion on the military capability of North Korea.
Noting that the north and the south agreed to independently solve the
issue of national reunification
by concerted efforts of the Korean nation, its master, it stresses that the
United States must abandon its
anachronistic Korea policy and the design to permanently occupy South Korea
and go home at an early
date, swimming with the changing trend of the Korean peninsula toward
reconciliation.
Supreme incarnation of devotedly safeguarding leader
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- "The first generation of the Korean
revolution fought like
phoenix and won victory in their struggle to defend the President Kim Il
Sung in hearty response to the
slogan let us defend the headquarters with our lives put up by Kim Jong
Suk, the heroine of Mt. Paektu,
during the rigorous anti-Japanese armed struggle. Kim Jong Suk was, indeed,
the supreme incarnation
who devotedly safeguarded the leader."
This is what Hwang Sun Hui, an anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter,
said retrospecting the noble
revolutionary spirit and indomitable fighting trait of Kim Jong Suk during
the anti-Japanese war.
The noble life of Kim Jong Suk, an indomitable communist revolutionary
fighter and an
anti-Japanese heroine, was consistent with the spirit of devotedly
safeguarding the leader.
She joined the revolutionary struggle in her early years and set a
brilliant example in the most
rigorous and hard-fought anti-Japanese war.
In June Juche 29 (1940) she safeguarded the great commander Kim Il Sung
as a human shield
when a critical situation was created in a battle.
Her fighting spirit and trait were highly displayed in the
life-and-death battle sites and everywhere
she went for underground activities.
After the liberation of the country, she energetically worked for the
well-being of the President and
to fulfil his line for nation-building.
After triumphant return home she postponed visiting her native home
within a hailing distance and
upheld the leadership of the President giving on-site guidance to hundreds
of units across the country
until the last moments of her life.
Her spirit of devotedly safeguarding the leader is fully reflected in
the slogan "Let us defend with
our lives the headquarters of revolution headed by the great comrade Kim
Jong Il "
The Korean people are devotedly safeguarding Kim Jong Il and pushing
ahead with a grand
forward advance for the building of a powerful nation upholding the slogan
representing her noble
intention.
Kim Jong Il's work published abroad
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- A famous work of General Secretary
Kim Jong Il "Let Us
Reunify the Country Independently and Peacefully through the Great Unity of
the Entire Nation" was
published in booklet by the Sikeria Publishing House of Sweden on September
23 on the occasion of
the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea.
Expounded in the work are the immortal feats the President Kim Il Sung
performed for the unity of
the Korean nation by putting forward the idea of the Juche-oriented great
national unity and the
principles and ways of achieving great national unity.
The director of the publishing house said he is convinced that Korea's
reunification would be surely
achieved according to the proposal of Kim Il Sung for founding the
Democratic Federal Republic of
Koryo and the idea of Kim Jong Il on great national unity.
"My Impressions of DPRK" published in Guyana
Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- "My Impressions of the DPRK" written
by Robert Williams,
general secretary of the Good Green Guyana, was published in booklet in
Guyana on September 19.
The book consists of the first chapter "the Grand People's Study
House", the second chapter "Mt.
Myohyang" and the third chapter "Kim Il Sung, He Is the Great Leader of the
Korean People and the
Eternal President".
The first chapter refers to the unremitting efforts and warm love of
the President Kim Il Sung and
General Secretary Kim Jong Il who had the Grand People's Study House built.
The second chapter describes the brilliant feats of Kim Jong Il who had
the international friendship
exhibition built fine and has wisely led people to glorify the greatness of
the President for all ages.
The third chapter elaborates on the glorious revolutionary activities
and immortal feats of the
President, who is revered by all the Korean people and the peaceloving
people of the world. It says that
though he passed away, he will always live in the hearts of the peaceloving
people of the world for his
immortal feats performed for the era and the revolution.
First home-visiting group of Chongryon compatriots meet with their
families
Seoul, September 25 (KNS-KCNA) -- Members of the first home-visiting
group of compatriots
under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon)
visited their hometowns, had
emotional meetings with their families and relatives from whom they were
parted and visited their
ancestral tombs from September 23 to 25.
They met with their families and relatives at their homes in Seoul and
localities.
They inquired each other after their kinsmen's health and exchanged
tidings, sharing board and
room with their families and relatives in a homelike atmosphere.
They told stories that they have been true to patriotic faith and
principle even under difficult and
complicated circumstances in Japan, an alien land, regarding the great
leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim
Jong Il as a mental pillar, built organizations of all levels and schools
in various places where the
compatriots live, firmly rallied around Chongryon, and the situation of
national reunification is
favourably changing following the historic Pyongyang meeting and the
adoption of the north-south joint
declaration.
They also visited tombs of their parents at their home-villages.

periodicos conmemoran dia mundial de turismo
pyongyang, 27 de septiembre (atcc) -- hoy periodicos consagran
articulos al dia mundial de
turismo.
turismo y conmemorarlo a
region y otras cosas similares.
