Cuba praises Vietnam's achievements
Cuban leaders warmly received Mr Pham The Duyet, who is leading a
delegation to Cuba.
Mr Duyet, permanent member of the Politburo's Standing Board and Presidium
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee was received,
on separate occasions, by Mr Jose R Machado Ventura, Politburo member of
the
Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee (CPCCC) and chairman of its
Commission for Organisation and Mr Hose R Balaguer Cabrera, CPCCC Politburo
member in charge of external relations and ideological affairs on September
29 in Havana, Cuba.
Mr Duyet informed his hosts about Vietnam's preparation for the upcoming
Party Congress and the current Party building and strengthening campaign,
attaching great importance to the upcoming Party Congress.
The Cuban hosts welcomed the visit by Mr Duyet, especially at the time when
Cuba was marking the 40th anniversary of the Cuban Revolutionary Defence
Committee, a mass organisation with 7.5 million members, considering it as
an encouragement to the organisation. The Cuban hosts said that experiences
of the Vietnam Fatherland Front are useful for the launching of the mass
movements for national construction and defence. They also praised
Vietnam's achievements in the cause of socialist construction.
In the afternoon September 29, the Vietnamese delegation left Havana,
successfully concluding their working visit to Cuba.
