The PNA vehemently rejected an Israeli warning addressed by BM Barak to
the Palestinians to end within 48 hours what he termed acts of
violence, otherwise, he will unilaterally stop the Middle East peace
     process.

Palestinian security sources said a state of emergency was declared in
     all Palestinian security forces today.

Minister of Information and Culture Yasser Abed Rabbo announces
yesterday the Palestinians will never surrender to threats made by PM
     Barak against the Palestinian people.

In a press briefing held in Gaza yesterday, Abed Rabbo accused Barak
and his government of escalating tension in the Middle East. He added,
If the peace process came to a stop, this will be the sole
responsibility of Barak's government and not the Palestinians.

OPINIONS

Al-Quds

The ongoing clashes between the Palestinian and Israeli occupation
forces were the main story tackled by the Palestinian media. Under the
headline" setting fire is more easy than extinguishing it", the daily
news paper Al-Quds wrote: The occupied territories were in an explosive
situation laden with feelings of frustration and anger due to the
Israeli continuous occupation of the Palestinian land and needed no
more than a match to ignite. The visit made paid by Likud Leader Ariel
Sharon to Al Aqsa Mosque late last month was the hay which broke the
camels back and motivated angry Palestinian and Arab masses, fed up
with the state of endless statements, to revolt.
The Arab and Muslim people and all those who believe in human values
are fed up with the continued occupation of Arab lands by Israel.
Now and after the Lebanese front was revived by Israel provocative acts
and violence, will Israel be able to extinguish the fire that it
     started?
