----- Original Message ----- From: "anti_nazileague" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Picket Haider's Freedom Party Oxford, Thursday 26 October, 6 p.m. Danson Room, Trinity College There has been fury at the news that the Oxford University European Affairs Society http://www.oueas.org/ has invited Peter Sichrovsky, Haider's replacement as head of the Austrian Freedom Party, to address them next week. We must stop this meeting. Let us not forget that days after the EU removed sanctions from Austria Haider was pictured at a rally of SS veterans and violently Nazi NPD members from Germany. Haider still claims the Waffen SS "are not the old Nazis ... they are not neo-Nazis ... they are not criminals". And he describes Holocaust denial as a "marginal theme". Peter Sichrovsky is Haider's successor as General Secretary for the FPV. He has defended Haider's claim that the Nazi concentration camps were "penal camps". He has also attacked those who call Auschwitz an extermination camp claiming the phrase was not one used by the Nazis! Sichrovsky says he cannot understand why two FPV youth activists who were caught desecrating a Jewish cemetery in Eisenstadt have been branded "political culprits". This week we have seen the marvellous results in the Austrian elections where the Freedom Party vote dropped from 27 per cent in last year's general elections to 13 per cent in Styria, Austria's largest province. Only 24 per cent of Freedom Party supporters believe the government has stuck to its election pledges. When Haider tried to hold a press conference in London last October he was chased away by anti-Nazis. We must not allow his replacement a platform in Oxford. Join the protest. Contact the Oxford University European Affairs Society http://www.oueas.org/society/contact.htm or phone them on 01865 510641 to demand this meeting is cancelled. ========================= ANTI-NAZI LEAGUE PO Box 2566 London N4 1WJ Tel: 020 7924 0333 Fax: 020 7924 0313 [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.anl.org.uk ========================= ======email:[EMAIL PROTECTED] phone:020 79240333, fax:020 79240313, ANL PO Box 2566 London N4 1WJ======
