The Participants discussed the political situation in Balkans. They confirmed the need of unity in the Communist Movement, in order to fight for peace and solidarity among workers, against the actions of the international capital to promote the confrontation and fratricidal wars. The Communists always support a policy of withdraw and no accession to the military block of NATO, which is contemporary weapon of the imperialism in order to impose its interests to the whole world. The last events in Yugoslavia are a new step of the brutal and undisguised intervention of the USA, the EU and NATO, that has brought the country very close to a civil war. Those forces are responsible for the dirty war against Yugoslavia that promotes the policy of the further disintegration of Yugoslavia and the revision of borders in Balkans. The goal of the implementation of the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe and the increased presence of NATO's forces in the area, is to prevent peoples to decide on their own ways of social and economic development and future. As far as Kossovo concerns, the participants reiterated that the region is an inseparable part of Serbia and Yugoslavia. All the foreign forces must leave Kossovo immediately. The recent elections of the Albanian population in Kossovo are deprived of legality since, no other nation and national group took part and because they were in fact organized by NATO. The Participants to the meeting underlined the need to build a new alliance of workers, farmers, youth and other forces fighting for peace against imperialism. The Balkan Peoples need peace and creativity. No changes of borders. Equitable relations and co-operation without imperialist intervention! The strengthen of the action and co-operation of the Communist and Workers' Parties, based on the Marxist -Leninist theory, in support of the class interests of the Balkan workers, for socialism, will be a valuable contribution to this large movement. The participants condemned the closing down of the newspaper Evrensel of the Party of Labour, (EMEP) Turkey, the pursuits against Turkish and Kurdish progressive forces, and also the imprisonment of the Romanian trade unionist, Miron Kozma. They welcomed the struggles of the workers in Balkan countries in defense of their interests. The participants expressed their solidarity to the struggle of the people of Palestine. The Participants decided to start an information and protest campaign: Against the presence of the NATO's forces, basis and nuclear weapons in the Balkans. Against the implementation of the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe, the militarisation of EU and its policy towards our region. Against the expansion of NATO and the accession of new countries into it. Against the deployment of the US-National Missile Defense System. It was decided to promote joint actions against any initiative coming from NATO and other imperialistic forces in the area. It was examined the possibility of setting up Anti-NATO Action Centers in the Balkan Countries.
