Vietnam sets example for Cuba, says Cuban official

Vietnam always sets an example for Cuba, stressed Jose R Balaguer,
Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee in charge
of the Party's external relations and ideology work.

He was speaking to a Vietnamese Party and State delegation on November7,
headed by Truong My Hoa, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central
Committee (CPV CC) and National Assembly deputy chairwoman, which has been
in Cuba for the second "World Solidarity with Cuba" Meeting to be held from
November 10-14.

Mr Balaguer welcomed the attendance of the Vietnamese delegation to the
meeting, considering it a new manifestation of the militant solidarity
between the Parties, governments and peoples of Cuba and Vietnam.

The Vietnamese head delegate thanked Cuban leaders for their hospitality
and said that the Vietnamese delegation would do its best to contribute to
the meeting's success.

The delegation, also including Tran Thi Thanh Thanh, CPV CC member and
minister-chairwoman of the State Committee for Protection and Care of
Children; and Vu Xuan Hong, Acting President of the Vietnam Union of
Friendship Organisations; met with Vilma Espin, president of the Cuban
Women's Union; Jaime Crombet, Cuban NA deputy chairman; and Sergio
Corrieri, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.

The Cuban senior officials said they hoped that the Vietnamese delegation,
having many experiences in the movement for comprehensive solidarity with
Cuba, would make important contributions to the meeting. (VNA)
