Kim Jong Il inspects Youth Hero Motorway

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il
inspected newly-built Youth Hero
Motorway on Monday.
When Kim Jong Il appeared at the entrance to the motorway, members of
the youth shock brigade and
soldier-builders enthusiastically welcomed him, breaking into thunderous
cheers of "hurrah ".
The 40-odd km-long modern motorway from the fork at Mangyongdae,
Pyongyang, to the youth bridge
at the entrance to Nampho, is a gift presented by members of the youth
shock brigade and servicemen with
loyalty to the 55th anniversary of the WPK.
This modern motorway is wide enough for several vehicles to run at a
time. It has unique bridges and
crossings. There appeared on its either side green belts and woodlands and
houses for thousands of families.
Kim Jong Il acquainted himself in detail with the construction of the
motorway, looking round wide
highway, flyovers of particular style, green belts and houses on either
side of the motorway.
Saying that the motorway has been impeccably built in terms not only of
its width and blueprint but of all
its structures, he stressed that the heroic struggle and enduring feats of
the young builders will shine long in
the history of building a powerful socialist nation and their immortal
feats will be always remembered by the
country and the people.
He noted that members of the youth shock brigade and young
soldier-builders wrought such miracles as
building a great edifice of eternal value with empty hands in the
revolutionary spirit of soldiers, the
revolutionary spirit of devotedly carrying out any task when the country
was under the most difficult
conditions. This signal achievement is a demonstration of the great mental
power of the Korean youth who
like to work and make revolution, he said.
Praising the young Koreans as the militant vanguard and shock brigade
of the revolution that registered
victories, braving the hardships and difficulties hard to endure, he said:
It is the great pride of the Worker's
Party of Korea and the Korean people to have such excellent youth and the
Korean revolution is sure to win
as the ranks of those proud young loyalists are giving steady continuity to
the revolution.
The youth hero motorway should be put into better shape and always kept
clean and neat as it is a
precious wealth to be handed down to posterity, he said. He advanced highly
important tasks that would
serve as guidelines in managing and operating the motorway.
He met and gave warm pep-talks to the youth shock brigade members and
soldier-builders who
performed heroic feats in the construction of the motorway and posed for a
picture with them.
Accompanying him were director of the general political department of
the Korean People's Army Jo
Myong Rok, chief of the KPA general staff Kim Yong Chun, Minister of the
People's Armed Forces Kim Il
Chol, member of the DPRK National Defence Commission Yon Hyong Muk,
secretaries of the WPK Central
Committee Han Song Ryong, Kim Kuk Thae, Kim Jung Rin and Kim Yong Sun,
secretary of the presidium
of the Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yun Hyok, department directors and
first vice department directors
and other leading officials of the WPK Central Committee, and KPA generals
Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae
Gyong.

Kim Jong Il inspects newly-built Hwangju chicken factory

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il
yesterday gave on-the-spot
guidance to the Hwangju chicken factory newly built by servicepersons.
The factory with a total floor space of more than 27,000 square metres
has been built under a
far-reaching plan of Kim Jong Il. It is a modern factory where all
processes and temperature, humidity and
lighting regulation are computerized.
Looking round the outside and inside of the factory reminiscent of a
modern scientific research center,
Kim Jong Il was much pleased to learn that soldier-builders completed it in
such a short span of time.
He highly appreciated their feats and expressed thanks, noting that by
the heroic struggle of servicemen
one more edifice of eternal value was built to bring prosperity to the country.
Underscoring the need to pay primary attention to technical control and
the management of equipment as
it is a highly automated ultra modern factory, he urged its officials and
workers to steadily improve their
technical skills and thus manage and operate it on a scientific basis.
After looking round the factory he put
forward important tasks to bring about a decisive turn in the improvement
of the standard of people's living
by putting stock-breeding onto a new stage.
Calling for building ultra modern and highly productive chicken, duck,
goose and pig factories in
different parts of the country under a long-term plan, he stressed that all
factories to be built should be
completed so impeccably that they may be handed down to posterity.
He underscored the need to thoroughly establish a feed supply system
and thus make the existing
stock-breeding bases pay off and build a strict anti-epidemic system in all
domains of stock-breeding
including poultry industry.
He was accompanied by Jo Myong Rok, director of the general political
department of the KPA= Kim
Yong Chun, chief of the general staff of the KPA= Kim Il Chol, Minister of
the People's Armed Forces=
Yon Hyong Muk, member of the DPRK National Defence Commission= and KPA
generals Hyon Chol Hae
and Pak Jae Gyong.

and Kim Yong Sun,
secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Yun Hyok, secretary of the
presidium of the Supreme
People's Assembly, senior officials of the WPK Central Committee including

deputy department directors of the WPK Central Committee and Pak Nam Gi,

Computerized library

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- A "computerized library" in Wonsan,
the DPRK, draws many
visitors.
Though it is not a large one, it is computerized to fully meet the
needs of visitors.
Several computers are always ready to serve the readers.
The computers provide necessary information to them.
Linked with a computer network of the centers for the dissemination of
science and technology across the
country, the library can search and get necessary information from the
Grand People's Study House, the
Central Scientific and Technological Information Agency and the invention
bureau of the Academy of
Sciences in Pyongyang, etc.
Printing service for readers is also available at the library.
The computer network helps search and get files of books and
information in the library.
For this good service the library enjoys ever greater popularity among

Pomminryon secretary general helps builders

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Rim Min Sik, secretary general of the
joint secretariat of the
National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon), visited the
site of construction of the
monument to the three-point charter of national reunification yesterday.
He gave pep-talks to the builders while working with them.
He said that the Korean nation would hand down the immortal exploits of
the respected President Kim Il
Sung who had conducted energetic activities for national reunification
until the last moments of his great life,
from generation to generation.
Noting that the gate of reunification is now being opened wide under
the wise leadership of the great Kim
Jong Il, he said that Pomminryon would conduct more vigorous activities for
the reunification under the
banner of the three-point charter of national reunification.
He conveyed to an official concerned a stone of high quality and aid
materials presented by the Japan
regional headquarters of Pomminryon.

Strengthened driving force for national reunification called for

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in an article today
calls on all the Korean people
to come out as one to strengthen the patriotic driving force for reunification.
The driving force for Korea's reunification is not any particular class
or strata but the whole Korean
nation, because national reunification is a work for all Koreans and their
own job and it is the driving force of
the nation that is capable of achieving reunification, the article notes,
and goes on:
Koreans cannot fulfil their responsibility and role of their own accord
as the driving force for
reunification for being such force. Members of the nation from all walks of
life and various political forces
should unite as one.
The great unity of the nation should be achieved strictly on the
principle of national independence under
the banner of patriotism, the banner of national reunification.
The driving force for reunification will grow immensely strong and
Korean reunification, the cherished
desire of the nation, will come earlier, when all Koreans in the north and
south and overseas get united on the
principle of national independence under the banner of patriotism and
reunification.

WPK's line of attaching great importance to youth

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- The line of attaching great importance
to the youth is a unique idea
set out by the Worker's Party of Korea for the first time in history, says
Rodong Sinmun yesterday in an
article. Noting that particular attention is paid to this line in the DPRK,
the article says:
The WPK attaches weighty importance to the youth as an important line
to accomplish the revolutionary
cause of Juche.
    The article goes on:
The great leader Kim Il Sung set forth this idea and the respected
leader Kim Jong Il is developing the
youth movement, true to his intention.
The slogan "Love the youth " represents the unshakable will of Kim Jong
Il to accomplish the
revolutionary cause of Juche, firmly believing in the youth and enhancing
their role.
The validity and invincible vitality of the WPK's line of giving great
importance to the youth were fully
proved by the fact that the youth built 40 odd-km-long Youth Hero Motorway
with empty hands during the
"arduous march" and forced march, thus setting a good example of devotedly
defending the party and the
leader.
Referring to important tasks to implement this line in the DPRK, the
article calls for exerting sustained
great efforts for the education of the youth, giving prominence to the Kim
Il Sung Socialist Youth League and
further strengthening it.
The youth league in the DPRK is the most dignified and militant one in
the world as it bears the august
name of Kim Il Sung and enjoys the absolute trust of Kim Jong Il.

Significance of first free trade zone in Africa

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun yesterday in a signed
article described the
establishment of the first free trade zone in Africa some time ago as an
important step for the unity and
development of the continent.
It is the demonstration of the African people's will to keep pace with
the trend of the era with their united
efforts, stressed the article. Referring to the great significance of the
establishment of the free trade zone, it
said:
First of all, it fully showed the practical ability of the Africans to
build a prosperous, new Africa with
their united strength. The African countries are taking an attitude of
solving all problems with the united
strength of the continent, ridding themselves of the past wrong conception
that they have no other way but to
rely on the west .
It is also of great significance because it will serve as stimulant for
promoting the pan-African integration,
not merely by giving impetus to increasing investment and trade in eastern
and southern African common
market.
Describing the establishment of the free trade zone as an important
step for the African economic
community, the article said that the tireless efforts of the African people
to achieve the rehabilitation and
development of the continent will bring about good result.

KCNA refutes false reports of some west European media

Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- A television and newspaper of a west
European country spread
cock-and-bull stories that the DPRK is diverting international food aid to
the army and some "privileged
circles" and children are starving to death at "camps."
Timed to coincide with this, some west European countries are egging
certain individual persons, who
know nothing about the DPRK, on to urge international human rights
organizations including amnesty
international to "probe human rights situation in North Korea" in a bid to
build up public opinion critical of it.

What can not be overlooked is that all those reports and what
individual persons said are identical to the
anti-DPRK false propaganda conducted by anti-DPRK hostile forces in the
past and obviously, one prepared
speech was read by them.
As already known, there has been strict transparency in the
distribution of international food aid given to
the DPRK by the international community since its start and this was
objectively verified by several
international and non-governmental organizations including the World Food
Program active in the country.
This notwithstanding, media of some west European countries and some
individual persons came out all
of a sudden to raise a hue and cry over the non-existent "diversion of food
aid" and "death of children"
despite this stark reality.
This can not be construed otherwise than an affront to the
international organizations and donor countries
which have sincerely participated in the humanitarian aid to the DPRK.
What is more serious is that those individual persons, not content with
the diatribe launched by them over
"transparency in the use of aid," are slinging mud at the DPRK over "human
rights issue" by citing false
information provided by anti-DPRK hostile forces at a time when the
normalization of relations between the
DPRK and the west European countries is on the order of the day.
Undoubtedly, through this they seek a sinister political aim to disturb
international humanitarian aid to the
DPRK and drive a wedge in the normalization process between the DPRK and
the west European countries.
Some media and anti-DPRK hostile forces of western Europe should drop
the anachronistic way of
thinking, face up to the realities and behave themselves.

alimentos (pma) y otras organizaciones
