Tripoli, Libya

A major gas deposit has been discovered north west of the
Libyan gas field of Assoumoud, near Brega, 700-km from
Tripoli, the National Oil Board has announced.

The Board said Sunday the reserve is estimated at 472 billion cubic feet,
293 billion of which can be tapped.

This is larger than the Assoumoud reserve, in the oil-rich north African
country.
