Massive military maneuvers in Finland Massive maneuvers of 7500 troops with heavy tanks and other military vehicles take place at Helsinki area Dec 7 - 10 2000. According to official sources and to the mainstream media the purpose of these maenuvers is to exercise defending Helsinki against external attack. Farmers close to the capital are really angry for spoiling their fields. According to the leading Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat the farmers even thank the army for exercising defending the motherland. Should we laugh or cry?
