Dear comrade and friends
In the recent CENA meeting in Cyprus, it was stressed the need of a common
statement of European and North American youth organizations on the issue
of the DU bombs used against Yugoslavia.
We send you the common statement, and also the organizations that endorse
it so far

Common statement on the casualties caused by the depleted uranium bombs
The aggression of NATO against Yugoslavia still continues!
Besides the thousands of dead and wounded from the "humanitarian" bombs, we
witness now the terrible consequences of the tremendous destruction
caused by mass destruction weapons of nuclear technology that NATO killers
used against the people of Yugoslavia. The series of casualties of soldiers
who died having being exposed to radiation reveal the actual dimensions of
the destruction that are still not known to its full extent.
This cruel crime underlines the barbarity of the so-called New Order, the
real face of imperialism that does not hesitate to use even nuclear weapons
in order to impose its domination and to safeguard the interests of the big
capital.
The Governments of the countries of the NATO and EU bare tremendous
responsibilities. They knew the facts from the very first moment. They
accepted the use of such weapons, and they tried to hide the truth from the
peoples and youth, even from the soldiers they sent to Kosovo.
Now the real meaning of the new strategy of NATO becomes more evident, as
well as the potential threat posed by the creation of an European Army.
We call upon the youth to express their solidarity to the Yugoslav people
that are the first victim of these consequences, we call upon the youth to
mobilize all over Europe and to denounce this new crime of imperialism by
demanding:
- The immediate restoration of the ecological damages, as well as the
damages of health of the population at the expenses of the governments that
took part in the dirty war against Yugoslavia
- The withdrawal of all NATO troops from Yugoslavia and Balkans
- The removal of all nuclear weapons and weapons that use nuclear
technology from our countries
- To stop all new armament programs in Europe and North America
We call upon the youth to strengthen the struggle for the disbanding of
NATO, for the stopping of the creation of the mercenary "European Army". To
promote a new diplomacy based on a patriotic, independent, peaceful policy
of co-operation.
