The coup d'état in the DR Congo and assassination of president
Laurent-Desiré
Kabila on January 16, exactly 40 years after Lumumba's assassination,
was the
final execution of the Rwandan and Ugandan interventionists' target,
backed by
the U.S. and former colonial power Belgium. As Grands-Lacs Confidentiel
already
stated in its edition of November 21, 2000, a "Coup Fatal" was planned
by the
Belgium and U.S. governments to put an end to Kabila's government and
implement
the disintegration of the country until February 2001. Consequently, a
second
front in the West was created by enforcing delivery of armaments, troops
of
mercenaries and logistics via Belgium to Brazzaville, covered by
intelligence
service units from the U.S. and Belgium.
Within the last weeks Ugandan special forces infiltrated into Kinshasa
to
encourage an attack on Kabila and create panic which should finally
serve as a
pretext for the takeover of power by a marionette government. The day
before the assassination of President Kabila the Belgians living in
Congo where told by their ambassy to stay at home the next day.
This plan more or less failed, but as the "Pére de la Patrie" ("Father
of the Country" in the mind of the Congolese people) is gone now, the
frictions of the Congolese government and armed
forces will become virulent sooner or later ending in a disastrous
situation of
the country that already lost 2.3 million lives during the intervention
war
starting in August 1998. Kabila stood strong against the Lusaka
Agreement of
1999 which aims at the splitting of the DR Congo: Stating "We will bring
back war to those who brought it to us", Kabila was determined to
clean-up his
country from all foreign interference and execute the legacy of Patrice
Lumumba
for a truly sovereign Congo.
As there is no person with a similar historic legitimacy like Lumumba's
and
Pierre Mulele's combatant Kabila (his son's integrity is controversial,
Joseph
hardly speaks French and no Lingala, the country's western language;
general
Kapend and the secretary of internal affairs Kakudji are no political
heavy-weights and have their own ambitions), the Congolese Maquis has to
start
from scratch again.
However, we should be aware of the developments in the last few months
when the
Congolese organisation "Operation 1234" (named after the UN resolution
no.
1234 of April 9, 1999 claiming the enforcement of DR Congo's sovereignty
and
integrity) with a well-trained ML core located in Brussels started to
organise
the Congolese community in Europe and link-up with the partisans of the
Mulele-Revolution of 1963-68 (Pierre Mulele, marxist-leninist leader of
the congolese revolution, killed by CIA), its most famous survivor being
Mulele's widow Abo
Wassis Léonie Hortense, the first female commander in the Congolese
Maquis
against Mobutu Sese Seko.
As we are facing another imperialist takeover in the heart of Africa
with its
huge richness of minerals and raw materials that will further increase
the
profits and power of the imperialist countries, we should take all
action we may
dispose of against this shameless dirty trick that once more enforces
the "New
World Order".
