Greek troops pull out of Kosovo
EIGHTY Greek troops from the Kosovo peacekeeping force returned home
yesterday because of the health scare over depleted uranium. Another 462
officers and men who have applied for repatriation, about a third of the
Greek contingent, will return in the next 30 days. The Defence Ministry
said it would try to replace them, but that this had not been
guaranteed. The Greek government, which has previously said the troops
should not return unless a general decision to leave was made by Nato,
promised not to act against any who decided to pull out. Paul Anast,
Athens
