Subject: Protests in Northen Greece

 * Protests will take place on Sunday 4/2 by the regional organisation of
Thessaloniki of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in Asvestohori and the
camp of Sindou, since it is being turned into a transport centre of the
forces of KFOR while the questions about the hidden plutonium are still
unanswered.
While the people's and youths protests are growing, with the
demand that NATO leaves the Balkans and that Greek soldiers return from
Kosovo, at the same time there has been a more frequent movement of the
forces of NATO from Thessaloniki's port. Also, looking at the movement of
these forces, most propably, the camp of Sindou has bin transfered into a
transport centre of vehicles and materials of the forces of KFOR. From some
information, it is believed that camp of Sindou is used as a disinfectant
place for the vehicles which return from Kosovo. There are a lot of
unanswered questions about the safety system used, and where the «polluted»
waiste is dumped.

The situation about the hidden plutonium tiles found a few days
ago in a forest close to Asvestohori is still confused. No one answers the
question how the Prosecution Force of Economical Control (SDOE) found the
500 hidden tiles of plutonium since they were dug out of the ground. What
they say is that, after a particular information they could find the tiles.
Who told them? And what happened to this person. Also, although the
scientists that took part in this operation said that only scientists with
special uniform came in contact with the this material, yesterday, (1/1) it
was known that a employer of (SDOE) who undug the plutonium tiles, was
transfered immediately to Athens for some tests at the Atomic Research
Centre of «Dimokritos».
