Subject: USA should be banned from UN
Date: Sat, 17 Feb 2001 17:31:44 +0100

Many will say that the idea of banning the USA from the
UN organization is stupid and unrealistic, because who would dare
suggesting such a thing knowing that USA is the first superpower
in the World and the economic power on which the ¾ of the World
depend on. But, the title United Nations does not mean primarily USA
and the others, but all on the same level, with the same principals,
laws and the moral values, and not only some values expressed in US
dollars.
The Gulf war some ten years ago, was perhaps justified,
but today nothing justifies the act of joint US-UK bombing of
civilians in Baghdad. If USA could not get rid of Saddam ten years
ago, when he represented a true menace for the neighboring Kuwait,
since almost seven years he is, it should be confirmed by valuable
arguments, the menace for his own nation, and yet it should also be
proved.
Does any UN resolutions allows USA and UK to bomb Iraqi
civilians under any excuse, whenever they find it is necessary, and
whenever they like it ? If there is such a clause, and if the human
rights as defined are the matter of all and anyone, then such a
resolution should be accessible to each individual, and not like
those secret indictments of ICTY, letting suppose thing and not
reflecting the reality. Seems that today the UN, ICTY and NATO are
the US instruments, and not the contrary. It seems that UN complies
to the US politics and US interests, and in that case it should not
exist any more. Should all those countries who do not fit the US
interests and US way of life, be punished as it happens today, and
should they be converted by the force to the Americanism which is
imposed to the World as a new religion and an ideal model of
democracy? We all know that in another economical and political
context because of similar ideas the World went through two major
conflicts. Is the situation the same? Yes, it is. Will the World wait
for another conflict, another millions of victims, another
destructions to realize that one nation as powerful as it may be, as
strong and rich as it could be, has no right to impose whatsoever to
the others. US intervention in Libano, peace talks in Israel,
peacekeeping in Kosovo ignited wars when there were nothing but
certain tensions.
