Balance sheet: 49 dead, tens of handicapped people, hundreds of wounded;
Brutality continues by taking power from your approval...
WITHDRAW YOUR APPROVAL!
There's no doubt that you aware what had happened and still happening in the
F-type prisons in our country. You know that they have been opened together
with the massacre on December 19, 2000. First of all it was you who gave its
approval to the F-type prisons. The government in our country has opened the
F-type prisons with your support. You were also silent during the massacre,
which led the opening of the F-type prisons. You continued being silent and
have showed no response against torture and brutality in the F-type prisons.
You have continued supporting the ongoing tyranny of the Turkish government.
Therefore you are responsible for the consequences.
YOU GAVE YOUR APPROVAL; HERE IS THE RESULT:
� 28 prisoners and 2 soldiers were killed. (The murderer of both
the prisoners and soldiers is the killing forces of the state. This is
proved by reports.)
� Memories of tens of prisoners on Death Fast have been destroyed
by forcible medical intervention; they were left handicapped physically,
psychologically and mentally.
� 14 political prisoners and 3 relatives have died during the
Death Fast.
The Death Fast continues. This massacre and brutality wasn't anywhere else
in the world.
IT IS US WHO ARE ON THE BRINK OF DEATH AND PAY THE PRICE FOR YOUR CONFUSION
OF THE REALITY IN EUROPE AND TURKEY!
If there's democracy in Europe and law and justice, you can't recommend the
F-type prisons to Turkey. Turkey is not Europe. Fascism rules in Turkey.
Even your governments are aware of it. Maybe some of you did not expect so
much shed of blood and brutality, while suggesting and approving the F-type
prisons. But it's us who pay the price.
You have suggested the cell system and approved with the F-type prisons
under the pretext of "individual life". In Turkey this means torture,
arbitrariness, repression, prohibition and massacre. While the prisoners
were opposing the anti-terror-law and the state security courts and
demanding the open trial of those who are responsible of the prison
massacres, the state was taking measures by using all these instruments.
IN TURKEY, THE LAND OF FASCIST REPRESSION AND TERROR, THE F-TYPE PRISONS
HAVE BECOME A LINK THAT COMPLETES THE CHAIN OF TYRANNY!
In Turkey the people have been usurped from their economic and democratic
rights. Turkey is ruled by a constitution and with laws, through which all
the rights of the people can be denied at any moment. Because of this, there
exists a constant struggle for rights and freedom in Turkey under hard
conditions. Under the auspices of this anti-terror-law the fascist
governments in our country can describe any kind of struggle for rights and
freedom as "terrorist crime" and open trials against democratic institutions
with ten thousands of members, by reasons like "support and shelter to
terrorist crime".
All sections, which the state wants to punish and intimidate, are confronted
with the "terror of punishment" by the state security courts.
While those courts mentioned acquit in cases of very open, proved and
reported torture and execution crimes, torturers and murderers, they are
bombarding revolutionaries, democrats and intellectuals with sentences of
heavy imprisonment and even death penalty.
Also the aim of using the F-type prisons is to carry out continuously the
policies of repression, terror, intimidation, torture and execution. This is
the function of the F-type prisons in Turkey.
WE WANT YOU TO SEE THESE FACTS AND TO WITHDRAW YOUR APPROVAL!
In its report the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, has met
the massacre from 19-22nd December and the tyranny continuing afterwards in
the F-type prisons and the hospitals "with understanding". Openly it has
approved those acts; the message "we are behind you" was given to the
Ecevit-Bah�eli-Yilmaz government. The state continues its massacre by having
the strength in this approval.
WITHDRAW YOUR APPROVAL!
The report of CPT is for the murderous Turkish state. They did not reflect
what they saw in prisons and the opinion of prisoners to the world outside.
They never exposed the truth to public. The savagery and massacre continue.
We continue to face the savagery both in hospitals and prisons.
IN A COUNTRY, WHERE HOSPITALS WERE TURNED INTO PLACES OF TORTURE,
NOBODY CAN DEFEND THE F-TYPE PRISONS!
Yes, the state has gone that far in brutality, that it has turned the
hospitals, where the death fast resisters have been brought to, into camps
of tyranny and annihilation.
The prisoners are chained on hands and feet in the hospitals, pressure of
gendarmes and wardens still continues here; the doctors of the MHP, who were
appointed by the fascist Minister of Health, Osman Durmus, carry out
oppression, which do not make the Nazi doctor Mengele being missed. You
should come and see the oppression and think about all your decisions,
approvals and reports in connection with the F-type prisons.
IF YOU DEFEND FREEDOM OF THOUGHTS, YOU HAVE TO CEASE FROM APPROVING THE
F-TYPE PRISONS!
Yes, our imprisoned relatives are revolutionaries, socialists, or at least
patriots who take part in the struggle for rights and freedom, they possess
democratic thoughts. They want to live with these thoughts. The attempt to
change thoughts by force, by torture means Nazizm. It was proved by history,
thoughts can't be changed, killed or destroyed by force. No power can change
the thoughts of peoples by force. You are the ones who defend freedom of
thoughts: that's why you have to support this resistance, which is based on
the will to live with its thoughts. You have to immediately cut off the
support that you've given to a fascist government, who is imposing to wipe
out the thoughts of everybody, inside prison and outside, saying, "you'll
think as I want... you'll live as I want".
WITHOUT THE EXISTANCE OF THE "RIGHT OF RESISTANCE", DEMOCRACY IS NOT
POSSIBLE!
This resistance stands for the protection of the freedom of thought and the
right to resist of all people. The death fast is a resistance against
massacre and crewel. It is the duty of all human beings to defend the right
of resistance. Those who watch and approve this massacre can't be human
beings.
Only the Nazis, who were cursed by the whole world, can approve this. The
resistance in the prisons in its essence is today a resistance for the right
to resist and the freedom of thought. All demands are an expression of it.
We, as the families of prisoners, have supported this just and legitimate
demand outside prisons by organizing death fasts. And until now we, as TAYAD
families, have given three martyrs during the death fast. At this point you
have to think about the reality of our country. We are not in prison; we are
outside and on death fast.
This shows how brutal the oppression in the F-type prisons is. This is the
indicator of the fervent oppression of thoughts in our country.
If you don't want to be accomplice to the responsibility of these deaths and
this crewel, which is still continuing in the F-type prisons and the
hospitals; there's just one thing you have to do; that is to support this
resistance of humanity, this right of resistance and the resistance for the
freedom of thoughts; by withdrawing your approval on the F-type prisons.

TAYAD FAMILIES
SENAY HANOGLU:
A short biography of the TAYAD-member Senay Hanoglu, who was on death fast
outside prison and became immortal on the 160th day of death fast:
Senay Hanoglu was born in 1966 in the village Armutalan in the district
Almus in Tokat. Senay Hanoglu, who gows up as the child of a poor family,
married with Y�cel Hanoglu, who is recently imprisoned in Kandira F-type
prison, and settled down in Istanbul in 1989.
She became acquainted with revolutionaries while living in Alibeyk�y between
'93-94. Her husband's friend Ismet Erdogan, who in this period worked in the
municipal of Fatih, was the first revolutionary Senay met. Short time after
her husband Y�cel Hanoglu was put into jail. Senay said, that Nil�fer Alcan,
who fell martyred in the massacre of 19th December, was one of those who
gave the most efforts for making herself participating in the revolutionary
struggle.
She was arrested the first time in 1994, after an action in front of the
post office in Sirkeci, where a US flag was burned. She was a resister; she
resisted the torturers until the end.
In 1994 she moved to K�c�karmutlu, where she has lived until now. Senay, who
on one hand took part in the revolutionary struggle, cared for the household
and went to public cleaning services to avoid making her children feeling
the absence of her imprisoned husband, and was both mother and father to her
children.
When the F-type prisons came to the agenda, she always stood in the first
ranks of the struggle against the F-type prisons. She didn't keep saying 'my
child, my family, my work, etc.'. She struggled for a live in humanity.
Following the initiation of the death fast in prisons, she volunteered and
took part in death fast outside prisons.
In the testament she left to her husband, she said the following: "Tell to
Y�cel, that from the day I began with death fast, I never hesitated, I never
regretted. I was always determined, I'm very happy."
Senay taught with her life how to fight against torture and isolation,
against the destruction of human thoughts, for a dignified life and, if
necessary, how to die. She was mixed under those immortal embracing death
with a smile for the sake of her thoughts.
