LAO PARTY EXALTS ACHIEVEMENTS OF VIETNAMESE PEOPLE AND PARTY
�� Ha Noi, April 25 (VNA) -- The Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central
Committee has sent a message of greetings to the ninth National Congress of
the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
�� The message said: "Under the correct and staunch leadership of the
Communist Party of Viet Nam, the fraternal Vietnamese people have joined
hands to highlight patriotism and the spirit of national independence and
self-determination, overcome all trials and difficulties to successfully
implement the Resolution of the eighth National Congress of the CPV and
attain importantly great and basic achievements, thus creating a new
position and strength for the country's development in the next period."
�� It continued: "The above-mentioned achievements and successes showed the
correct and clear-sighted renewal policy of the Communist Party of Viet Nam
and strongly affirmed the great and vivid potential of the socialist regime
in the conditions of renewal. At the same time they are valuable model and
experiences for developing countries which are choosing way towards
prosperity in the present context."
�� The Laos-Viet Nam fine friendship, special solidarity and comprehenshive
cooperation which are invaluable property of the two nations have seen
constant in-depth and broad development, bringing great and firm benefits to
both countries, the message affirmed.
�� The Lao People's Revolutionary Party would do its best to boost these
fine relations for our two peoples' benefits as well as for peace, stability
and development in the region and the world as a whole, it added.--VNA

BAY OF PIGS CELEBRATION
�VIENTIANE, APRIL 25 (KPL). A gathering to celebrate the 40th anniversary of
the Giron campaign (Cuban victory against the Bay of Pigs invasion force)
coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the Communist Party of Cuba was held
yesterday at the National Culture Hall.
�The sides evaluated the strong relationship between the Parties, states,
and peoples of Laos and Cuba. Bouasone applauded the courage of the
Communist Party of Cuba over the last 49 years, stating that they have been
able to overcome many difficulties caused them by the US administration.
Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, including the eastern socialist
countries, Cuba kept moving forward on the path to socialist development,
increasing its fame in the international arena./

MYANMAR DELEGATION TO VISIT VIENTIANE SOON
�VIENTIANE, APRIL 25 (KPL). A high ranking delegation from Yangon the
capital of the Union of Myanmar is scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to
Vientiane in response to an invitation by the Vientiane Mayor.
�Mayor of Vientiane, Bounheunang Duangphachanh was informed of the future
visit by Myanmar Ambassador U Sein Win Aung, yesterday.
�The visit is aimed at enhancing the ties of friendship and co-operation
between the two capitals and will take place later this month./.
