- The POSCOs Legal Attack
on Sammi Workers and Korean LaborNet
On the third of
April, the POSCO, a Korean steel giant, applied for the injunction
of using the design of Sammi workers Anti-POSCO websitehttp://antiposco.nodong.net/
to Seoul District Court. The POSCO claimed that the parody site
obviously violates the property right of POSCO homepage design.
Last month Sammi workers organized two weeks nation-wide
caravan struggle for the reinstatement, visiting 25 cities and
holding rallies. Arriving in Seoul on March 17, they held the
protest rally in front of the government building. So far, they
are dismissed more than three years, or 1,150 days. We
appreciate the solidarity and support from the workers all over
the world. Sammi workers struggle is now in its decisive stage. So
the internatioal solidrity and support is absolutely necessary!!!

In a departure from the boring old, union-dominated
May Day commemorations of the past, activists around New Zealand
are busy gearing up for a day of celebration and protest on May 1,
2000. A variety of events – from pickets and processions to
concerts and publicity stunts – are being organised by groups in
Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin to mark
May Day 2000, which has been designated a Global Day of Action
against Capitalism by the People’s Global Action (PGA) network.
