Campaign against Euro-federalism - General Election Statement
===========================================

Few issues today can be decided without European Union
interference whether in regard to jobs (especially manufacturing),
health, education, pensions, elderly care, housing, agriculture and
fishing industries, criminal law, police or armed forces. In other
words governments can no longer govern Britain without taking
account of this European Union direct interference.

The Campaign against Euro-federalism wishes to make the
following points in the General Election to indicate European Union
interference is intolerable and instead wants Britain to become
democratic and independent with the right to self determination.
This call for an independent Britain is not xenophobic or isolationist
but the best way to achieve peace, friendship, a sustainable
environment and fair trade between states all over the world. Any
other way of trying to achieve these objectives involves coercion of
nation states and their peoples.

The Campaign against Euro-federalism makes clear it is imperative
the next government:-

1. Seeks to introduce laws to stop companies closing down their
operations in Britain and move elsewhere if to do so would cause
devastation of the local community;

2. Actively supports small businesses, particularly in
manufacturing, that experience temporary problems due to
currency exchange rates or other difficulties;

3. Opposes entry into the Economic & Monetary Union, the
conditions set for it, and the euro so that government has the tools
to control the economy in the interests the country;

4.Seeks to introduce laws to stop companies closing down their
operations in Britain and move elsewhere if to do so would cause
devastation of the local community;

5. Actively supports small businesses, particularly in
manufacturing, that experience temporary problems due to
currency exchange rates or other difficulties;

6. Opposes entry into the Economic & Monetary Union, the
conditions set for it, and the euro so that government has the tools
to control the economy in the interests the country;

7. Takes back control of agriculture and fishing industries, including
Britain's internationally recognised waters, from the European
Union and develop policies for these industries in the interests of
the country, farmers and fishermen;

8. Makes arrangements for Britain's contribution to the EU budget
be reduced by the proportion paid to the EU for the Common
Agricultural and Fisheries Policies and any excess over what we
receive back in structural funds etc.;

9. The railways, currently privatised to comply with EU directive
91/440/EEC, be taken back into public ownership and democratic
structures put in place for running an integrated railway system
with the involvement of rail users and employees with powers to
make public investments in the rail network;

10. Bring an end to Public Finance Initiatives (PFI) and all future
privatisation including that of pensions and industries such as the
postal service and air traffic control as called for by the EU;

11. Ensure criminal law is not modified or changed in any way to
suit the new EU criminal code, and, the police to remain under
national and local control. Foreign police must not be used on
Britain's soil for law and order;

12. Ensure that Britain's armed forces shall not take part in the
European army. The European army shall not be allowed in Britain
for training or any other reason and Britain's armed forces shall be
used solely for the defence of Britain.

The Campaign against Euro-federalism does not support any
particular party or their parliamentary candidates. There are labour
movement candidates. We advise voters to use their common
sense to vote for what they want and not get, rather than vote for
something they do not want and end up with that instead.
