VNA Leaders pay tribute to Uncle Ho A delegation of the Party Central Committee (PCC), the State, the National Assembly, the government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) led by General Secretary and NA Chairman Nong Duc Manh, State President Tran Duc Luong, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and President of the Presidium of the VFFCC Pham The Duyet paid a floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum on May 18 on the occasion of his 111th birth anniversary. Other members of the delegation included Do Muoi and Vo Van Kiet, former advisors to the PCC; Le Kha Phieu, former PCC general secretary, Politburo members and revolutionaries. The delegation�s wreath bore the words: "Forever grateful to great President Ho Chi Minh." The delegation also offered incense at the President Ho Chi Minh relic site, in the Presidential Palace. Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh praised the staff of the President Ho Chi Minh relic site for the preservation of the relics and recommended they work harder to preserve the relics. Yesterday, the Ho Chi Minh National Political Institute held a scientific conference; �President Ho Chi Minh with promotion of nation unity in Vietnam�s revolution.� The authorities and people of Nghe An central province (President Ho Chi Minh�s hometown) held a grand ceremony to mark the event. The Ho Chi Minh Museum�s, Ho Chi Minh City branch, organised a meeting of over 70 participants who have studied, collected and presented the museum with precious photos, documents and articles related to President Ho Chi Minh. The Ho Chi Minh Museum�s Mekong delta branch in co-ordination with the Ho Chi Minh Museum opened an exhibition entitled �Ho Chi Minh Thought and the National Renovation Cause.� Southernmost province of Ca Mau held a contest on Uncle Ho which attracted the participation of the majority of local people. An exhibition on "President Ho Chi Minh: Life and Career� was jointly held in Ha Tay province by Ho Chi Minh Museum and the provincial Department of Culture and Information. A grand meeting was also held in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh�s 111th birthday. Yen Bai nothern mountainous province held a seminar on Ho Chi Minh Thought and Morals. Nearly 200 delegates who are grassroots cadres and village chiefs in the four Central Highlands provinces of Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong and Kon Tum joined a five day trip to Hanoi to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.
