.KCNA on Bush administration's preparations for war
Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- The U.S. army will reportedly create a
brigade to be hurled into the Korean peninsula from the U.S. mainland within
four days after the outbreak of a dispute on the peninsula, pursuant to the
Bush administration's "New National Defense Policy." Scheduled to be founded
by the next year, the brigade would perform the role of a task force with
greater maneuverability and fire power than the existing brigades.
These facts clearly prove how much spur the Bush administration is
putting to the preparations for the second Korean war after making it a fait
accompli.
After the emergence of the bush administration, hawkish republican
government, the process of reconciliation on the Korean peninsula is again
facing an obstacle and the danger of war is increasing. This is adversely
affecting the situation in the Asia-Pacific and the world.
The Bush administration's new plan to create the task force against the
DPRK is one more provocative war move to further strain the situation on the
Korean peninsula, spark a chain arms race and check the national
reconciliation and unity between the north and the south.
This is a clear indication that the Bush administration is only keen to
realize its ambition to dominate the world by "force" although it talks
about "strategic stability" and "peace" in the world and pretends to be
interested in improving the relations between the DPRK and the U.S. and
between the north and the south.
The people and the army of the DPRK will further heighten vigilance
against the U.S. preparations for a war, a threat to its sovereignty and
security, and counter the aggressors' provocation with a strong measure for
self-defence.
