Paek Nam Sun meets Malaysian foreign minister
��� Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- DPRK foreign minister Paek Nam Sun met and
conversed with Datuk Sri Syed Hamid Albar, foreign minister of Malaysia, and
his party at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on June 4 when they paid a courtesy
call on him.

Unionists stage sit-in strike in NA speaker's office
��� Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Tan Pyong Ho, chairman of the South Korean
Confederation of Trade Unions, and other leading members occupied the office
of the speaker of the "National Assembly" on May 30 and went on a sit-in
strike in demand of immediate clearance of bills on reform including
amendment to the labour law and others, according to Radio No. 1 from Seoul.
They threatened to carry on the strike until they are told that the NA has
cleared different kinds of bills on reform including those on abolishing
discrimination against irregular workers and cutting down working hours and
amendment to the "law on protecting mothers" and "law on private schools."

Implementation of north-south joint declaration called for
��� Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article
calls for bringing earlier the day of national reunification by implementing
the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. The declaration, which was
published last year, solemnly expressed the will of the Korean nation, the
main agent of the country's reunification, to settle the issue independently
by its concerted efforts.
��� The north and the south of Korea agreed to reject any foreign
interference and achieve the reunification of the country independently by
the efforts of the Korean nation responsible for it. This is the basic
spirit and the hardcore of the declaration, the article says, and goes on:
��� There lie difficulties in the way of opening the door of reunification
by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation owing to the challenges of the
united states and the anti-reunification forces.
��� It is an urgent task of the movement of the Korean nation for
independent reunification to meet the challenges of the United States and
the anti-reunification forces and implement the inter-Korean joint
declaration.
��� The United States is working hard to hamstring the improvement of the
inter-Korean relations and the movement of the Korean nation for independent
reunification, pursuant to its "hardline policy" toward the DPRK. Joint
military exercises targeted against the DPRK are frequent in South Korea and
fellow countrymen in the north are defined as its "principal enemy" and the
suppression of pro-reunification patriotic organizations is going on there.
��� Success in the movement for independent national reunification depends
on whether the Korean nation shatters these challenges of separatist forces
at home and abroad or not.
��� The Korean nation should decisively foil the anti-national and
anti-reunification moves of the separatist forces at home and abroad and
carry on its dynamic grand march for independent national reunification,
united close under the banner of the joint declaration.
��� An immediate task before the nation is to hold various functions and
stage the reunification movement common to the nation significantly on a
nationwide scale on the occasion of the first anniversary of the historic
Pyongyang meeting and the publication of the declaration.

Japan's moves to repeat history of aggression under fire
��� Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed commentary
assails the Japanese chief executive for his intention to participate in a
function to "honour the war dead" and visit the "Yasukuni Shrine." The
commentary says:
��� His planned participation in the "function" in Okinawa cannot be
construed otherwise than an expression of the Japanese government's high
praise of the "feats" of the Japanese who fell in action in wars of
aggression and his intention to take the lead in achieving the "aim" they
failed to achieve.
��� Such an attempt was clearly disclosed by his projected visit to the
"Yasukuni Shrine."
��� The visit is little short of an expression of the Japanese government's
intention to justify the wars of aggression in the past, honour top class
war criminals as "heroes" and "patriots" and launch reinvasion true to their
will.
��� This is one more act to hurt those people who fell victim to wars and a
challenge to the Asian people.
��� Though half a century has passed since the end of the second world war,
the Japanese authorities have refused to admit Japan's past crimes, far from
reflecting on them.
��� Recalling that the German government has made apology and compensation
to those states, which fell victim to its war, the paper stresses that Japan
will not be able to avert watchful eyes of its neighbouring countries and
people unless it has a proper perception of history and honestly redresses

Powdered lactic acid bacilli produced in DPRK
��� Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- The foodstuff institute under the branch
academy of light industry of the DPRK recently succeeded in the research
into powdered lactic acid bacilli which can be used in keeping goat milk for
a long time and producing a variety of processed goat milk. It is simple to
cultivate bacillus and easy to handle. And powder fineness is very good.
��� It can be kept for 4 months at a temperature 15-20 degrees c.
��� It can be used in producing dairy products everywhere without consuming
electricity.
��� It is good for massproducing quality goat milk products such as sour
milk, milk bean-curds and soft drinks.

World Day of Environment
��� Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- June 5 is the world day of environment. The
DPRK is pressing ahead with the projects of preserving natural and living
environments.
��� The state is directing attention to creating forest resources on a
long-term basis.
��� A mass tree-planting movement is going on in high key according to the
10-year tree-planting plan for creating forests of over 1.5 million
hectares.
��� Cooperation with the U.N. organization is moving into higher gear in an
effort to preserve the variety of organisms in the nature reserves of Mt.
Myohyang, one of famous mountains in the country. A plan is being worked out
to generalize this in all reserves across the country.
��� Other projects for better environment are under way.
��� The state established such legal bases as the "law on environmental
protection", "law on preserving scenic spots and natural treasures" and "law
on protecting useful animals" and called upon all people to turn out in
protecting environment.
��� A month of land development has been set each in spring and autumn.
��� Valuable and rare animals and plants were set as natural treasures to be
protected and many reserves have been established.

Wreath associated with Kim Il Sung's loving care
��� Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- The second seminar on "Peace of Asia and
Role of Women" was held in Seoul 10 years ago. The DPRK women's delegation
led by Ryo Yon Gu (former vice-chairwoman of the DPRK Supreme People's
Assembly and former presidium member of the central committee of the
Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland) went there to
participate in the seminar.
��� Ryo Yon Gu was a daughter of Ryo Un Hyong, former leader of the South
Korean people's party who was killed for fighting for the reunification of
the country and national unity.
��� Learning that she would visit Seoul as a member of the delegation,
President Kim Il Sung showed such loving care as seeing to it that a wreath
in his name was laid before the tomb of the late Ryo Un Hyong during her
visit to Seoul.
��� Kim Il Sung instructed officials to prepare the wreath with 208 flowers
as Ryo Un Hyong was aged 105 and his wife 103.
��� He also told them to place 9 kimilsungias and 9 kimjongilias in the
centre of the wreath, given that Ryo Un Hyong had 9 sons and daughters.
��� Written on a ribbon hanging from the wreath, which was presented by Ryo
Yon Gu choked with emotion, were letters "In Memory of the Late Mong Yang,
Mr. Ryo Un Hyong. Kim Il Sung".
��� Many figures visiting the tomb of Ryo Un Hyong were deeply touched by
the loving care of the President.

Wreaths laid before statues and tomb of Kim Hyong Jik
��� Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state leaders including
Han Song Ryong, Kim Chol Man and Kim Jung Rin, officers and men of the
Korean People's Army, working people, youth and students laid wreaths before
the statue of Kim Hyong Jik, the indomitable revolutionary fighter and
outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement of
Korea, in Ponghwa-ri, Kangdong county, Pyongyang, and before his tomb in
Mangyongdae today on the occasion of his 75th death anniversary. Laid before
the statue and the tomb were wreaths sent by leader Kim Jong Il.
��� Lining up in front of them were guards of honour of the KPA.
��� Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, wreaths, bouquets and
flowers were laid before the statue and the tomb in the name of the central
committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the presidium of the Supreme
People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the DPRK
cabinet, commissions and ministries of the cabinet, national institutions,
military academies, educational and press organs, party and power organs,
enterprises, cooperative farms and schools in the city.
��� The participants observed a moment's silence, looking back on the
brilliant life and noble exploits of Kim Hyong Jik who devoted his whole
life to the liberation of the country and the freedom and happiness of the
people.
��� Wreaths were also laid before his statues in Sakju county, North
Phyongan Province, and Junggang county, Jagang Province.

de averiguacion de danos por la ocupacion de corea por el imperialismo
japones y otras 21 organizaciones sociales exhortaron a los 70 millones de
coreanos en el norte y el sur de corea y en el ultramar a lograr la firme
