Three- Month Administrative Detention - Dr. Sami Al-Awartani
The Israeli Supreme Court has decided to arrest Dr. Samir AlAwartani,
executive director of Rafidia Hospital at Nablus, for three months as an
administrative detention without a sentence.
The Israeli Army broadcast mentioned yesterday that Dr. Awartani, 30 years
old, was arrested at Alenby bridge border crossing between Jordan and the
West Bank after finding out some exploding material signs over his hands and
body. 
A spokesman of the British embassy in Israel declared that Dr. Awartani was
on his way back to Palestine from a visit to Britain where he participated
in a conference in Oxford funded by the British government.
He added, "we expressed to the Israeli authorities our worry regarding Dr.
Awartani's health and we appealed to the them to explain the reasons behind
his arrest". 
It's worth mentioned that the "administrative detention" is imprisonment
without a sentence for a period of three months that can be renewed to six
months.

Mohammed Sehwail, Director of Palestinian Center for Treating and
Rehabilitating the Victims of Torture, said: "Most Palestinians Were Exposed
to Israeli Aggressions"

Exposed to the Israeli Aggressions"
Dr. Mohammed Sehwail, Palestinian director of the Center For Treating and
Rehabilitating the Victims of Torture asserted that most the Palestinian
people were exposed to the Israeli aggression whether directly or indirectly
and that more than 50% of the Palestinians are in need of help and
psychological support.
This was included in a working paper which was entitled as "The
Psychological Impacts Resulting from the Israeli Assault" and which Dr.
Mohammed submitted during a conference for the World Health Organization,
which was held at Greece under the title of "Psychological Health During the
Consequent Disasters of Wars.
Dr. Eyad A-Saraj, head of board of directories of Gaza Mental Health
Program, submitted a working paper entitled as "Palestinian Perspective to
the Political Reality" in which he called up the international public
opinion for performing their responsibilities to protect the Palestinian
people during the suffering they live.
Dr. A-Saraj indicated that peace lies in ending the Israeli occupation. He
also indicated the advantage of the Palestinian participation in the
conference where the real conditions that the Palestinian people live has
been conveyed. 
Several recommendations were issued in the conference; the most important of
which were asserting the awareness of psychological health and supporting
it, the highly relatedness of psychological health with peace and human
rights, and asserting the essential role of the professionals who work in
the field of psychological health in preventing human violations.
The conference of the World Health Organization, which the Greek Ministry of
Health hosted, was held with the participation of more than 90
representatives from all over the world.
