Dr. Riyad Zanoun, Palestinian Minister of Health, Meets a Delegation from
MAP Association and Head of British Royal College for Pediatrics
Dr. Riyad Zanoun, Minister of Health, received, at his office yesterday, a
delegation form Medical Aid for Palestinians "MAP UK" .He also met with
Professor David Hall, head of the British Royal College for Pediatrics, in
the presence of Dr. Abdel Mottaleb El-Qawasma, director general of
Rehabilitation and Public Medicine at the Ministry, Dr. Abdel-Jabbar
El-Teebi, director general of Primary Health Care, Dr. Yehia Abed, dean of
School of Public Health, and others.
Dr. Zanoun discussed with the members of the delegation the issues related
to the child's health development project and the selection of the trainers
of doctors and nurses. He also discussed the bad needs of the Ministry
concerning the medical equipment especially under the Israeli ongoing
suppressive practices against our Palestinian people and the Israeli
deviding policy.
Dr. Marwan El-Za'eem, director general of Public Relations at the Ministry,
mentioned that Department for International Development funds the project
while Medical Aid for Palestinians "MAP UK" carries it out in cooperation
with the British Royal College. Dr. El-Za'eem indicated that the trainers
would be granted a diploma certificate in Child's Community Health.
Dr. Zanoun offered, at the end of the meeting, souvenirs ,which represent
the Palestinian heritage and bear the logo of paletinian Ministry of Health
to the members of the delegation.

Gaza: Dr. Zanoun and Doctors' Union Honor Senor Resident Doctors
Dr. Riyad Zanoun, Palestinian Minister of Health, asserted the continuity of
offering medical services to the Palestinian people at the honoring
celebration, which was held at the premises of Doctors' Union in order to
honor old senor doctors at health primary care. These doctors were honored
under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and the Doctors' Union.
Dr. Zanoun mentioned that the Ministry of Health struggled under very
difficult circumstances in order to help the Palestinian people. He said:
"we do feel that Doctors' Union is the ray of hope not only of the present,
but also of the future. He added that The Doctors' Union is the sector that
took the responsibility of saving the injured of our people. He added that
doctors and EMS work so hard in operation rooms and ICU that they deserve
the certificate of appreciation presented by the MoH and Doctors' Union
On the other hand, General Personnel Council recognizes these certificates
and gives a motivation for its holders. He also asserted that they are
working on the Egyptian fellowship for which a great number has applied.
Dr. Zanoun, Minister of Health, praised the role of the Medical Society and
asserted that it is a source of pride for all us. Then he mentioned the
accomplishments achieved by the directorate of Human Resources Development
at the Ministry of Health, supported by the new doctors. Finally, Dr. Zanoun
congratulated the doctors on the certificate that is considered an
evaluation for their efforts.
For his part, Dr. Thuhny Al-Whedy, doctors' representative at Gaza, thanked
all the doctors especially the distinct doctor Dr. Riyad Zanoun, Minister of
Health, who has played a great role in the success of the medical
procession. Dr Al-Whedy asserted the unity of all the medical associations,
especially the Medical Society that plays a great role in communicating with
people
On behalf of the honored doctors, Dr. Sawsan Hammad praised, in her speech,
the role of Dr. Zanoun for the achievements of the Ministry and his great
efforts in defending the Palestinian doctors and medical associations that
offer services to the Palestinian people. Dr. Hammad praised, as well, the
role of Dr. Al-Whedy for his effort to protect the Palestinian doctors
especially the new ones during the current difficult situation.
At the end of her speech, Dr. Hammad thanked Dr. Zanoun for his supporting
opinions and for everybody who works hard in order to develop the
Palestinian society. At the end of the celebration, Dr. Zanoun distributed
certificates of appreciation to the honored doctors.

Deputy Minister of Health Visits Emergency Hospital at Salfeet
Dr. Monther El-Shareef, Deputy Minister of Health, accompanied by Dr. Fahed
El-Sayid, Director General of MoH visited Salfeet governorate to inspect the
health conditions in the govenorate under the Israeli ongoing siege and
aggression.
Dr. El-Shareef and the accompanying delegation listened to a detailed
explanation from Dr. Bassam Abu Madi, the director of Salfeet Health, about
the needs of the directory. During his visit Dr. El-Shareef showed the
Ministry's understanding to the necessity of rehabilitating, developing and
expanding the work at the hospital.
Dr. El-Shareef met with Dr. Shaher Eshtaia, mayor of Salfeet, who showed the
readiness of Salfeet Municipality to grant 5000 sq. m. to the Ministry of
Health.

Three Palestinians Among Whom A Three-Month Infant Were Martyred While Other
Four Were Seriously Injured at Hebron Governorate
Israeli terrorist settlers carried out, yesterday, a savage massacre against
a Palestinian family from Ethna at Hebron governorate. They killed in cold
blood three members of Attamizi family among whom an innocent infant whose
age has not exceeded three months. They also injured four members of the
same family among whom a six-month infant and a woman whose injury is
serious.
The three martyrs are: Mohammed Salama Attamizi (23 years old), Mohammed
Helmi Attamizi (22 years old), and the three-month infant, Dita'Marwan
Attamizi. The four injuries are: Mai Najeeb Attamizi (16 years old), Sameer
Mosallam Attamizi (22 years old), Rowan Helmi Attamizi (4 months old), and
Amira Wael Attamizi (2 years old).
An Israeli group of settlers that calls itself as "Committee of Roads
Safety" declared its responsibility for committing such a massacre, which
had taken place on 9:00 p.m. yesterday evening. Attamizi family was on its
way to visit one of its relatives. While the family was on its way, the
settlers who were driving a white car, shot, at random, towards the family
before they had fled away towards an Israeli checkpoint near Tarqomia
Entrance.
It is worth mentioning that Martyr Mohammed has been married since 10 days
ago and his wife has been seriously injured.
