Today, the developments threating and even demolishing the independence and integrity of Cyprus actually, are productions of imperialist plans prepared under the leadership of the US, totally. Fascist coup held on 15 June 1974 and Turkish intervention resulted with the occupation of island's north are different phases of a unique plan. 2. The then main purpose of imperialist plan was guaranteeing a military existence of NATO in Cyprus by exploiting the conflicts between the interests of Turkish and Greek bourgeoisie and the chauvenist pronunciation they needed in the internal politics, to hinder the unification of progressive movement in an anti-imperialist character and to make the island a base which is affective in Middle-East policies. This plan succeeded on a large scale. 3. It can not be said that the negotiations held in the years following 1974, under the protection of imperialist countries and interrupted in most of the cases, have aimed at a real solution. Especially the calculations of the US are on a solutionlessness or a "solution" which will create fresh tensions. After all, there is no reason for imperialism which carries war, eye drops and new conflicts to all over the world, to adopt an attitude other than this. 4.It is not only the imperialist countries who do not want the island continue as an independent and united republic. Sovereign classes of Turkey and Greece defend the policies which will guarantee the continuity of today's dishonourable status-quo. As an alternative they keep in hand the annexation of the island partially or as a whole by Turkey or Greece. 5. In this picture, the atmosphere claiming the EU as a center producing solution, is totally false. Forget about any plans conflicting with those of US, even the existence of any EU policy towards Cyprus which is different than that of US, is in dispute. Republic of Cyprus' membership to EU will bring new problems and stiffen the actual dividedness of the island. If what we say is meaningless to you, we would like to remind the imperialist character of the unity to those having optimist views towards the membership to EU. 6. In the root of problems encountered in Cyprus are the imperialist countries, Turkish and Greek bourgeoisie and the reactionary forces under their protection, but this situation never legalizes current Denktas' regime and the Turkish military existence as the only supporter of this regime. Turkey's Cyprus policy has nothing to do with "protecting the rights of Turkish Cypriots". After the demolish of the results of fascist 15 June 1974 coup, Turkey has been transformed into an invader force in reality. The so-called "protected" Cypriots in the north of the island have been in the minority today. Dentas's regime has continued to stand with the possibilities created by tens of thousands of immigrants brought from Turkey and military existence of Turkey. In the recent moths, this regime declares "traitor" the people saying "we are cypriots" and talking about making Cyprus a district of Turkey, openly. Under these circumstances, the Party for Socialist Power once again underlines that the only real liberation for Cypriot workers is independent, united and socialist Cyprus, and calls all revolutionary powers in Cyprus, Greece and Turkey to adopt a common attitude towards the following demands. 1.All foreign military powers should leave Cyprus immediately and synchronously. International trrops existing there under the name of "Peace force of United Nations" are included. 2.All English bases used in US operations in the region should be closed immediately. 3.Migration form Turkey to Cyprus should stop immediately. 4.All negotiations about the EU membership of Republic of Cyprus should stop and all agreements which had been reached until now should be cancelled. 5.All those defending the annexation of the island as a whole or partially to another country, or those bringing this as a possibility into the agenda, have made "war propaganda". Whether these actors are in Cyprus, or in Turkey, or in Greece, they should be tried immediately. 6.All semi-secret and secret organisations established for applying opression and violance against the progressive, revolutionary environs in the island should be dissolved immediately. 7.All anti-imperialist forces struggling for an independent, united Cyprus should come together and establish a center of coordination for realisation of these requests and for determination of longer term aims. *End* _________________________________________________ KOMINFORM P.O.
