India appreciates reconciliation with Maoists

India "appreciates the reconciliation" with Maoists, an Indian embassy
press statement said after Indian Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh left for
home after a three-day goodwill visit.

India has halted the construction of a barrage south of Lumbini in India
from July 10 and the birthplace of the Buddha is sacred to India and Nepal,
the statement said.

India broached the issue of what it calls the use of Nepal by third
countries for anti- India activities while Nepal assured New Delhi such
