MILOSEVIC LAWYER ACCUSES SERBIAN GOVERNMENT

Former President of Yugoslavia Slobodan Milosevic's lawyer has sent
charges against fourteen members of the Serbian government to the
Belgrade district prosecutor's office. A decision to cooperate with The
Hague international tribunal was taken on July 28th. The Belgrade paper
"Politika" reported on Tuesday that Momo Rancevic had accused the
government members of abusing their position and assisting in the
abduction of the former president.
According to the paper's information, the same accusations have been
levelled against the ex-director of Belgrade's central prison, as he
took Milosevic from prison "without permission of the appropriate bodies
and prosecutors." The newspaper stated that the accusations had not only
been made in the name of Slobodan Milosevic, but also the
recently-formed non-governmental organisation Sloboda, which is aiming
to free the ex-president.
