CUBA VALUES SOLIDARITY WITH VIETNAM, SAYS FIDEL


Hanoi, August 27 (AIN)--The Hanoi media today highlighted a message from
Cuban President Fidel Castro to Organizations of Solidarity of Viet Nam, in
which he explains the value to Cuba of friendship and solidarity between the
two countries.

According to the Nan Danh Journal, official organ of Vietnam's Communist
Party, the Cuban leader said he values the role played by solidarity
institutions on behalf of enhanced ties of friendship between the two
peoples.

The Cuban head of state sent telegrams to Vu Xuan Hong, interim President of
the Union of Friendship Organizations, and Tran Thi Thanh, President of the
Association of Friendship with Cuba and Minister of Chile Protection. In the
text, Fidel also sent thanks for messages of congratulations and good wishes
he received on the occasion of his 75th birthday from the organizations, on
behalf of all his Vietnamese friends.
