During the period of this resistance, which was started against the isolation cells, it has become the centre of resistance for the social opposition that speaks about the democratic demands of all the people of Turkey. To prevent the death fast the state of Turkey has done everything; it has even committed massacres. The state always claimed that those who were participating on the death fast were under the �pressure of the organisations�. Supposing that it prevents this �pressure of the organisations� it has launched an operation and locked the prisoners in single cells. That�s why it surrounded its own prisons on 19th December 2000 with machine guns and chemical weapons and �conquered� the prisons. This resulted in the deaths of 28 people. But the political prisoners were determined in their believes and in their resistance, and the death fast continued with new massacres. Later on the state tried to choke the resistance by prohibiting any news concerning the death fast. They built up walls of censorship by deciding to blackout the televisions and prohibit the newspapers. But these walls were broken once more with new death fast martyrs. The walls of censorship couldn�t prevent the continuation of the death fast and it reached the people wave after wave. Our deaths have demolished the walls of censorship. The state expected a solution from force-feeding and 60 prisoners were turned into the living dead. Tens of prisoners were constantly subjected to the torture of force-feeding, but every prisoner who was conscious removed the serum and made the state�s treacherous and unlucky attempt of annihilation invalid. Up until now the price of this resistance was paid with 60 prisoners who have been turned into the living death. The state thought that the death fast would end with the release of prisoners; but it did not. The state constantly made the demagogy that those on death fast continued their action under the ideological pressure of the organisations, although they were now placed in single cells. Also those released have continued their death fast. The released prisoners began to destroy these demagogues with their resistance that they continued at their houses. The state has massacred 57 of our people, without success, it has turned 60 of our people into the living dead, without success. It has tried to use the families against the prisoners, but also without success. Because the families also began to die on death fast as well. The gunpowder of the state began to become exhausted. But it did not make the correct approach to find a solution; to negotiate with the prisoners and to grant their demands. The state of Turkey, who got their permission from Europe and America to annihilate the political prisoners during the operations, forced medical interventions and isolation upon the prisoners in the cells. But they were not able to break the resistance in spite of applying all of this of tyranny and cruelty. In fact the resistance has become bigger with the participation of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth death fast teams. Now in this current period the state of Turkey, even though there exists no legal base, has started to set free the political prisoners from the prisons and hospitals in a silent and soundless way. Their aim was to be saved from the prisoners, who have been turned into the living dead and are about to die. With this aim the first 11 people were left in front of the prisoners gates without even informing their families that they were there. Our people who have been on death fast for more than 200 days and who can�t walk anymore were left in front of the hospitals and prisons on stretchers. Those prisoners who were conscious continued their death fast even though they had been released. Finally on 28th June 28 remand prisoners and 4 sentenced prisoners, altogether 32 prisoners, were left in front of the gates. The weather is getting hot and the prisoners are losing body fluids, they are on the border of death and the issue of mass deaths came onto the agenda. The state is trying to save themselves from their responsibility for the deaths in the prisons and hospitals whilst trying to get rid of the prisoners who they have turned into the �living dead�. No, they can�t succeed. Those who have turned our country into a isolation cell, our people into the �living dead� can�t flee from their responsibility. We won�t allow the soil of our homeland to be turned into an isolation cell and into a cemetery for the �living dead�. It is not even a solution to release all of our comrades who are on the border of death. Because those released continue their death fast outside and in the prisons hundreds of prisoners have turned their unlimited hunger strikes into death fast. The only solution to end the death fast is to negotiate with the political prisoners and to break the isolation cells. There is no other solution for the torturing and murderous state. The resistance that is continuing in Turkey is a resistance that is unequalled in the whole world. Not only those who are in prison but also the released and the families have started to die on the death fast. There is no difference between the inside and the outside. The resistance that started in the prisons continues both inside and outside with the price of 57 death, 60 �living dead� and hundreds of handicapped. The heroism has become one with the people, the resistance has spread out into the soil of the whole country and has even taken on an international character by giving martyrs even in Holland and Germany during the activities in support of the death fast.
