S. Korean army stages military drill
Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- A unit under the first field army
command of South Korea recently had an large-scale firing drill, according
to a report. This three-day exercise was staged under the simulated
conditions of the operation to "locate various objects in the depth of the
enemy such as radar and electronic war equipment" and "find out the enemy by
means of detection and strike it with artillery fire of the unit."
Japan's ambition for overseas aggression under fire
Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- The director general of the Defence
Agency of Japan in a recent interview with the Japanese Sekaishuho (world
affairs weekly) fully disclosed the ulterior aim sought by Japan in seeking
an independent missile defence system after he clamoured about the plan at
the talks held between the military authorities of the U.S. and Japan in
late June. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article says:
Although the Japanese reactionary ruling quarters are describing the
projected system as one for "defence" in a bid to justify their moves, their
ambition for overseas aggression lurking behind this plan can never be
covered up, just as a gimlet in the bulging bag is bound to protrude.
Japan seeks to establish military domination over East Asia through the
establishment of its independent Missile Defence system.
It also intends to consolidate its military foundation for overseas
aggression through the establishment of the system.
There is no need for Japan to set up such a system as its security is
guaranteed by the U.S. under the "U.S.-Japan security pact."
In fact, there is no country attempting to make a missile strike at
Japan or invade it.
Yet, Japan is working hard to establish this system.
The ulterior intention of the Japanese reactionary ruling quarters is to
revise the present constitution for paving the way for overseas aggression.
Japan is keen on the development of the independent Missile Defence
system, although it is aware that the U.S. MD program is almost infeasible.
What the Japanese reactionaries seek in this is to completely abandon
the principle of "exclusive defence."
It is the calculation of Japan that it will hold an unchallenged
military position by establishing the independent Missile Defence system and
invade other Asian countries with ease.
Japan is grossly mistaken if it thinks it can have its security
guaranteed and invade other countries as it pleases with the help of this
system.
The Japanese reactionaries are well advised to behave themselves.
Independent national reunification called for
Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- The DPRK-Russia Moscow declaration
made it clear that supporting the Korean people's efforts to settle the
issue of national reunification independently and peacefully by the
concerted efforts of the Korean nation according to the June 15 North-South
Joint Declaration is helpful to the settlement of the issue and that any
outside interference in this process should not be allowed, says. Rodong
Sinmun today in a signed article. It continues:
This is a clarification of the stand that the issue of Korea's
reunification should be settled independently and peacefully by its people's
concerted efforts free from any foreign interference and a clear proof of
the justice of the Korean people's cause of independent and peaceful
reunification.
The Korean people's cause of independent and peaceful reunification is a
national issue which should be settled by the efforts of the Koreans, the
master of the country, in conformity with their will, requirements and
interests.
It is the Koreans who sincerely wish national reunification with vital
interests in it and who are capable of accomplishing its cause.
As national reunification is an issue belonging to the sovereignty of
the Korean nation, the nation should resolve the issue by its own efforts as
a master according to its independent will, requirements and interests.
The cause of independent and peaceful national reunification is a
nationwide cause, which can be achieved only when the Korean nation
thoroughly rejects outside aggression and interference and pools its
efforts.
The U.S. imperialists have kept South Korea under their military
occupation for over half a century with a wild ambition to occupy the whole
of Korea with South Korea as a springboard.
Realities prove that it is impossible to solve the issue of Korea's
reunification and the Korean nation cannot be free from disasters of a
nuclear war to be ignited by outside forces as long as South Korea remains
under the u.s. imperialists' military occupation and their moves for a new
war go on.
If Korea's independent and peaceful reunification is to be achieved, the
U.S. imperialist aggression troops, the author of national division and the
foe of its reunification, should withdraw from south Korea, first of all.
The Korean people's just cause of independent reunification is sure to
triumph.
Greetings to President of Guinea Bissau
Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, President of the
Presidium of the DPRK supreme people's assembly, on Sept. 18 sent a message
of greetings to Kumba Yala, President of Guinea Bissau, on the occasion of
the 28th anniversary of the proclamation of its republic. The message
extended warm congratulations to the president, government and people on the
occasion.
Expressing belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between
the two countries would continue to develop on good terms, the message
wished the president and people of Guinea Bissau success in their work for
national unity and prosperity of the country.

norteamericano, wolfowitz, subsecretario de defensa norteamericano hablo de
la necesidad de incrementar fondos necesarios para el establecimiento del
sistema de "defensa antimisil", sobre todo para el desarrollo de las armas
aereas de radar en el espacio aereo de la peninsula coreana pretextando la
"amenaza de misiles" de la rpdc. el periodico "rodong sinmun" inserto en el
numero del dia 22 un comentario senalando que la "amenaza de misiles" de la
rpdc de que hablo el sin prueba alguna ni teoria justificable constituye una
provocacion y un desafio intolerables contra esta. el comentario senala:
la estrategia asiatica de ee.uu. es aplastar con las fuerzas a la rpdc y
tomar la peninsula coreana por trampolin estategico militar para agredir y
dominar a asia.
lo que llama atencion es que los belicistas norteamericanos tratan de
colocar surcorea y su contorno dentro de su esfera de "defensa antimisil"
para fortalecer su ofensiva militar sobre la rpdc. los imperialistas
norteamericanos tratan de formar una red de misiles contra la peninsula
coreana y buscar algun pretexto para dar primer golpe cuandoquiera a la
rpdc.
no podemos estar con brazos cruzados ante el hecho de que ee.uu. trata
de emplazar los poderosos medios de ataque de misiles en el espacio aereo
sobre la peninsula coreana para emprender un ataque militar contra la rpdc
pretextando la supuesta "amenaza de misiles" de esta.
reforzaremos nuestras contramedidas de autodefensa.

numero de hoy un articulo senalando que la reunificacion de la patria es una
empresa inspirada en el amor a la patria y a la nacion que puede realizarse
solo por la lucha patriotica de toda la nacion. el articulo senala:
el espiritu del patriotismo de la nacion coreana es la solida base
ideo-espiritual para la gran unidad pannacional y la fuerza impulsora de la
lucha por la reunificacion de la patria.
entre el norte y el sur hay las diferencias de ideologia y regimen y
otras diversas disparidades. pero la reunificacion de la patria es la tarea
mas primordial de la nacion coreana.
de veras el amor a la patria y a la nacion es una gran bandera que une a
todos los coreanos en el norte y el sur y en el ultramar para la gran
empresa de la reunificacion de la patria superando las diferencias de
ideologia, regimen, criterio politico y creencia religiosa y los intereses
