I say that there is a real anti-imperialism to this force, a virulent
independence.

They are anti-woman, they draw on the CIA to create them- but they are fighting
this one, I believe, on the basis of the national struggle.

They also know that once the war begins, the whole dynamic changes. America in
Afghanistan is not a good idea. This is going to permanently mean that America
can never be at peace in any part of the Middle East. I'm sure of this much. The
Taliban is absolutely counting on the power of being steeled opponents of the
Americans to help their fight.

I wouldn't turn my back on the Taliban, but against America? I wish them luck.
